she came this far. be happy about that. Our problem is systemic. This is Indian apathy to other sports at its best.Cant say how much hatred i have towards cricket now. we have given step-motherly treatment to every other sports. the money coming into cricket if we used to groom people to go into other sports we would have done better. Cricketers travel in first class planes while footballers travel in reserved compartments in train. that is the irony of india

Saina, you always been very consistent with your game. Apart from this chinese world no 1, you have conquered the world again and again. So, cheer up. You are one of the rare champions India has ever produced.

Diff between world no'1 from other countries in
by surya das on Aug 04, 2012 07:34 AM  | Hide replies

comparision with world no'1 from India.

Look at her, she never won against world no1 in her last 6 encounters..that is called great.

Where as present world no1 archiery Deepika Ku. knocked in round 1 from a unseeded player.. thats the diff.

No matter how great player u r or whts ur current ranking at present, its matter of handling pressure nd zeal to perform against all odd..cause this is Olympics (the biggest sporting event in any one's career). If u succumb under pressure, then u will perish without a note..and u will be history..cause at the end nobody will care whether u r world no1 or 100..its people remember if u r a winner in Olympics or not.

Good luck to our all beloved athelets..

Oh Surya, your comments are so big. It looks like you have few olypic winners in your family. You should have few if you know all the success mantra. Go, sleep once more as you must have been tired after writing these big, tiring words....

India was always good in 'shooting'.
You can see the result. 1.25 billion people!! 1/6th of world population.
2 medals in shooting and nothing else.

Its ok to lose to better player
by Passed on Aug 04, 2012 02:32 AM

As far as you played your best and fair, it is ok to lose to a better player. Because it is not always about winning but about getting the best out of you.

You have long way to go Saina, Good Luck.
