many 'pundits' here expecting saina to win a medal in badminton, but her road towards medal is very tough now. she has to beat Tine Baun of denmark, if she succeeds surely a fight agnst chinese player in sf will nt b easy. agnst chinese saina's record is nt that good..even is she looses in sf, then have to beat another chinese player in bronze medal bout..very hard road indeed..hope for the best...crazy things do happen in soprts...indeed..!!

yes it is understood it gets tougher here on and when she meets chinese girls...but there's still hope from her, of at least a bronze.
Mary Kom has got a very favorable draw in boxing..so, a bronze medal is assured atleast. If she can overcome nicola adams of uk in sf then we can expect gold frm her..i hope 1-2 male boxers including vijender will go in semis atleast...I hav very high hopes frm boxing this time than any other sport discipline..Let's all hope for the best n cheer fr them...!!
Its been really disapointing that this contingent-the most hyped up so far, has got only 1 bronze and are being knocked out one after the other in other events. Earlier atleast we could blame lack of support-but now with the Mittal trust, tata trust and OGQ funding and supporting and hiring foreign coaches, we have nothing to show. In Cricket, we are the world champs and have been no 1 in tests. And we have been consistently in the top 3 for many years, plus we have the greatest cricketer ever still playing today. For those of who who criticize cricekt calling it a non-global sport, you need to look at the associate playing nations-USA, france,holland, ireland etc. Even China has a cricket team. Cricket is getting gloab;lised and we are still among the top 3, so its due to cricket akone(plus a few like Saina and the shooters) that we have a bit of respect in the sporting world.

Yes you are right,sometimes proud and sometimes humiliated in front of the world super powers such as Bangladesh,Srilanka,Pakistan,etc.
All impoverished and malnourished nations like USA,China,Germany,France,Korea,Italy,Japan,Brazil,etc are no match to us in cricket.
We are always thankful to our colonial masters for teachning us a game like cricket which made the whole nation active,healthy and a nation of brave warriors.

Cricket and Olympics: Can we compare APPLE and JACKFRUIT? Cricket is played between 7-8 nations... and the Olympics between countless nations ... We should blame ourselves. Privatize all Sports bodies and ensure that no Parliamentarian or MLAs get to hold on the coveted posts as they do very little for the benefit of the game apart from clinging to that position for a lifetime... Make Sports as a curriculum in our schools and encourage parents and children to see that sports can be a fulfilling career option. We as Indians (common Indian) - how many of us when growing up really are concerned about our health ... Out of 100 families in big/small cicities ... how many do you see taking a jog in the neighboring park ... instead we feel it better to spend time with SAAS BAHU SERIALS and develop our intellect.

tell me where all all counries get qualified in one of the olympic games.. atleast 30...
it all depends on skill factor, u can't expect holland & USA to play cricket with any of the test-playing nations..
never ever assume that all these games are played in all the countries...
there are many games which are layed in west but not in east but still in Olympics, conversely we also have few games which are popular in east but not played in west and are also not part of olympics..

Oh really..In cricket also we lost badly at Lords. Same at archery. at home conditions both would have been world beaters :)

Kashyap will loose the next match because by now he will be so happy to be the first Indian male badmintton player to reach quaters in olympics and super saina whos has seen many records will obviously advance to the next level.....

Complacency, that was evident even in Hockey match between India & NZL. i have seen first half,its only first 5 minutes Indian team looked good when they scored first goal...

Kashyap has done a wonderful job & will continue to do so in future as well, he is now matured & will take on any seeded player with ease as for his match with LCW pls wait & see. Congrats! in advance. Your knowledge in Badminton is limited. Refrain from making such negative remarks being an Indian.
