Nadal is still WorldNo. 2, and can easily climb to no. 1 by Wimbledon next year.
Novak Djokovic cannot maintain his play at the level he showed in 2011; this was amply demonstrated by his string of poor performances after the US Open. Assuming a 10% drop in Djokovic's level in 2012, which player is going to benefit most? Nadal of course!
Federer can do well only in patches;he can even win an odd big one, but he is not going to overtake Nadal. He is already on the wrong side of 30, and there is no way Nadal is going to let go his hold over him on any kind of outdoor surface. Nadal is only going to improve his H2H with Federer, like he did in 2011, winning 3 and losing 1. However, those who are not convinced by a scoreline of 17-9 will never be convinced.

You might be knowing that it takes 4 players to push someone out of Top 4.

Nadal's form dipped considerably and is not the old Nadal any more. In the match against Federer, he was feeding Federer with all his short stuff.

Nadal may be another Borg who won all his grandslams by 26 and then nothing after that. Not saying Nadal will not win any more grand slams; even with this form he may still win 2 or 3 French Opens before he retires. Anything more than French Open, Nadal needs to find his old self.

Nadal and Spain will win Davis Cup for sure; that victory does not give his fans any joy.

Watched the final, Tsonga was sleeping for the first one and half sets. Federer is a great player and may have won this; however, I think he will lose 3 out of 4 games played against Nadal of 2010 and Djokovic of 2011.

Australian open is less than 2 months away...and we will have answer where Nadal and Djokovic stand as far as their form is concerned.

Form is temporary but class is permanent....You can talk about Nadal of 2010 or Djokovic of 2011 or Sampras of whatever year but thats title number 6 in the bag.

So continue scratching ur bum and wondering what if...

Tsonga

I guess Tsonga is going to break into Top 4 next year. He is the kind of player, who puts everything into every point, and has the knack of doing the unthinkable at crucial times that stuns opponents into impotence. Though Roger is the clear favorite today, I wouldn't be surprised if Tsonga with his attitude is able to nullify Federer. In any case, it is going to be a case of a few points one way or the other.

Rite....Next year you r going to see Djokovic is again going back to No3 or 4, now he is under more pressure to retin No 1 position....and now he would have felt that how was handled federer in last 8 years. FED is greater then all (at present)

Borg retired at the age of 26, not 24.
Borg won 101 titles, but only 64 are ATP registered, others are club level or in sattelite circuits where competitions was less and mostly from upcoming European players.
He won 11 Majors but never the Aus or US open. Of the 64 ATP titles 30 were on clay (almost 50%).
What is outstanding about Borg is he was far ahead of the field during his peak. since he left as soon as McEnroe was coming of age, we don't know how he would have aged on the circuit.
His win % of 82.7 all matches played is certainly a record over a career and may stand forever.
