Despite the below par show in this tournament, he has to be congratulated on having had a great year in 2011. People will always debate whether this was the best year one ever had since ATP came into existence, but it will surely rank at the top with Nadal's 2010 and Federer's 2006, when he lost just 5 matches throughout the year. His performance towards the end of the season however proves the point that the level of play he demonstrated in the first 2/3 of the season is impossible to maintain, even for one complete year, and there lies the chance for likes of Nadal. My prediction is that Nadal is going to become the first player in history to recapture the end of the year no. 1 trophy after losing it twice.
