Lewis was in superior car.. but why?
by padmanabhan R on Nov 19, 2011 04:36 PM

Most of the people attacks Lewis with one point. that is he was lucky to have the faster car in his rookie year and haven't had to work his way up from inferior cars like the other great drivers...but has anyone thought that why he was given a superior car in his first season??? without talent??!! Also he showed it on track that the 2 time world champion was not able to score a point more than the rookie!!

Fans of the most successful fan?

Lewis is probably Senna's most celebrated fan. So getting his scribble on Senna's DVD is no harm. He's worthy of it IMHO. Wonder what Lewis thinks of Senna's planned moves on track against the Prof. I doubt the word 'impressed' would spring up…either.

cheerso!

Raja Sen, Do you watch F1 Races at all???

You have copied words from an interview of Whitmarsh. Secondly, Vettel had a puncture at the 2nd corner and he was way ahead of Hamilton, so if Vettel would have been there then the story would have been different.

In one paragraph you say Alonso is the completest driver (Do you know English language, because there is no word like ‘completest’ in English language) and in another you say Hamilton has the skills and he destroyed Alonso in 2008. Alonso and Hamilton had the same number of points, both lost the championship to Raikkonen and so Hamilton destroyed Alonso that year is too much (Copied word-by-word from Whitmarsh interview, who is actually a McLaren team boss). Raja Sen, do you watch F1 races or you just copy other’s articles and combine them into one article.

Why don’t you compare your completest driver with the legends of Formula1? Why don’t you compare the youngest two time world champion Vettel with the Legends of F1? Why don’t you talk about Vettel taking a Toro Rosso to race victory? If Hamilton has the talent then he should have shown us that talent in an inferior car this year. Legends are made when they perform in underperforming cars and not superior cars only. Schumacher made Ferrari championship winning car from 1999 to 2005. He joined Ferrari right after winning the two titles at Benetton in 1996. So can you compare a guy who was given a superior car early in his career with any other Legends like Ayrton, Schumacher,

Button's been striking all year, and could yet be pipped to that second post by Fernando, flogging his Ferrari far out of its second-rate skin all season, but Hamilton has shown he has some way to go before he can be compared with Alonso, the completest driver in current F1 -- and the driver Lewis had beaten back in 2007, when they had the same shiny wheels.

You are writing for an Indian audience, try to write sentences that we can understand. You are not writing verses of a holy book or Book by Shakespeare which goes over others head. We are not sure why rediff pays this guy when each and every reader here hates his way of writing. Who agrees?

What a moronic Article?
by Hari on Nov 18, 2011 02:49 PM  | Hide replies

I am no big fan of Hamilton, but was impressed mightily by the Alonso comment on Hamilton as the most talented driver in the generation. It is driving home something. This is not some average couch potato raving about a driver, but a man who is fighting full time in the bullring for wins blurts out his admiration for a fellow racer. Alonso knows better.

I am not here to analyze/defend Hamiltons excursions to the absurd on race days, but it all can be seen as the remnants of a bad year (as he himself has so often commented - "bursting bubble", "proving oneself") and (Schumacher had fared far worse in this - but no ones commenting) could be a thing of the past come next year. Still 3 wins (counting) and 6 further podiums despite all the penalties is something. When Button Hamilton was racing with Hamilton not hampered by penalties, you know who was the victor interms of race position.

Senna died famous, died young, that doesnt take anything away from him. But If one lap race over the raceday (Fastest laps during racing) was the deciding factor, then Prost was far superior to Senna. Also win by win Prost had the better ratio than great Brazilian. I have always felt that Senna hype is overblown by the obvious emotions generated after his tragic death on track. Raja sen is again a victim of these emotions and I guess, Hamilton is just a triggering instance for the article, not more.

Well said man.. Its just what I felt after reading this article.. Senna is a legend not just because of the way he drove, but also because of the sympathy which came up after the fatal incident. His is by far one of the best no doubt, but not the only best driver.
