How big is this thing and how this will benifit India
by jet on Nov 04, 2011 02:00 AM

seems this is a great achievement. How big is this .? How will this benefit the country .? just read in another article that india is some where around 120 in the human development index. Will that change.? Will the world or atleast our tiny neighbors respect India like they respect/scared of china? Will the terrorists attacks stop? Will the formers suicide stop .? will the traffic jams in our streets stop .? Malaysia, Turkey, Hungary,Belgium are hosting this since many yrs. Have those countries arrived ? will India win a gold in next Olympics .?

Hats off to everyone who made this happen in our soil. It was almost a dream come true for me.. My favorite heros racing on my own soil..

Only thing I still can digest is Making Jenson button to drive an auto in the F1 track. :):)

We still await construction of Delhi - Agra Highway, which is to be built by the company in exchange of free land & permissions granted for construction of F-1 race course.
The Race course is opened, but the work for Highway has not started.

the writer has... well... written quite well, truly from the emotional self as i can say... and rightly so... it is surely a proud moment for india as we share the "podium" for being one of the best circuits along with the moment of pride as f1 was hosted for the first time on the soil.
and yes, the chest does swell up and goosebumps are still there when i (read: we) once again go back to the thought of watching f1 with pride...
and did i tell you i was watching it on tv? but the moment was shared by all alike, whether watching it or not...

India a CREATED paradox.
by Hehehe on Nov 01, 2011 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

i would like discontinuing using my car, if prompt and efficient public transport is available, i would like see Indians using toilets instead of defecating and urinating in open, get running water, get electricity, ....., the list is long.

Any activity which bridges the gap between haves and have-nots is welcome, Indian extremes of affluence and poverty are man made due to misplaced priorities and lack of TRUE patriotism(not chest thumping).

Many Indians dont love India, most of the love is in good times, at the slightest trouble we abandon our ethics, principles and jump the ship....

I dont feel much at the success of Grand Prix, India is long way off from arrival yet.

may be a liitle too much of an exageration...
by CoolGuy on Nov 01, 2011 12:04 PM

May be many didn't know who Wheldon was, but there are quite a lot of fans following MotoGP and in that case Simoncelli was not all that a stranger.. 99% was quite huge Rediff. It doesn't mean that if Rediff doesn't write about Wheldon / Simoncelli, they are not strangers.. ;-)
