Pele says he is the best ever. Whenever someone with great talent comes to the scene, he is compared to Pele, the ultimate! Hope we have someone to comapare soon with Sachin! Pls, pls, don't start all over again!!!
Messi is no doubt better than anyone else right now (He left behind Cristiano, my favrt player). But to compare with Maradona is not fare. Maradona was a class of his own, he wasnt having support of Xavi/Iniesta. Maradona perform across the globe where Messi still has long way to go but doesnt look like far for him. Interesting to see him in coming season.

For Barca, he plays as a striker. For Argentina, (during world cup) he played as a mid-fielder. How can u expect a mid-fielder to score goals? and fyi, most of the assists of the goals came from Messi only .

My dear frnd, do not react like an blind supporter 4 any1, look what i wrote to start with. Accepted the best player without any doubt. U dont have to score always to be an great, Giggs/Iniesta/Xavi do not score as many as others but still an outstanding players. Its an impact what u made on your team while playing, thats where he lacks, Similar like our own Sachin, he is argubaly d best player ever bron but not an great captain so he can not stand infront of greats like ganguly/Dhoni/Chappels/Imran Khan/Steve Waugh. Y Marodona was outstanding, purely because the way he played and make people play with his presence.

Yes, Right. No doubt Messi is class apart & is the best player of teh world at the moment, but he is still behind Maradona the all time great. Maradona didn't have the best players to support him at that time like Messi has currently in the form of Xavi, Iniesta & Villa. Maradona had single handedly won the Worldcup for Argentina in 1986. If Messi can show his brilliance in the world cup & bring it again for Argentina then only he will be equal to Maradona.

You can more reasonably expect Kolkatta Knight Riders to do it ;)IPL is anyway a pensioners paradise!!
Barca embodies the spirit of the beautiful game like no other team. They have strong values, a robust youth system, discipline, intelligence and outstanding individuals knit together. In my opinion, Xavi, with his brilliant orchestration, was a greater menace to the opposition than Messi. Anyway, watching the pentagon (it was a triangle earlier) of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pedro and Villa is an honour. May I also add that Pique neutralised MU's long balls with brilliance. Barca were simply matchless.
Lessons: 1. Barca are not 11, it's One. A completely cohesie unit. No selfish players, no egos, no desperation. 2. A strong belief in system. A well knitted slick passing sequences will definitely lead you to win. 3. A philosophy of Total Football. It's a game as well as a business. Barca understands that. 4. How to win by playing beautifully. Barca symbolises Right is Might and not Might is Right dogma that Mourinho believes in.

They lost a bit of my respect with the kind of acting they have done in classicos. Sergio Busquests have proven that he can fit equally well at Hollywood. But they have shown their real class in the final, the best team in the world by a mile!

Agreed more than 100%. Do not forget Alves, the only problem with Catalans r, they cant see others playing football, they will fantastic as long as ball is with them, they will start everythng the momemnt they will loose the ball.

Surya Das, your comment is stupidity and its 'insane peak'. Why on earth would someone react that seriously to a light hearted comment? With that kind of misplaced seriousness, I won't be surprised if you can't get a girlfriend!

Sir, I believe you are referring to Argentina. Hence: 1. Messi is just 23 and has not been around for very long 2. Argentina do not have the support structure for Messi to thrive as he does in Barca 3. Their coaching and other infra to gel a true team like Spain or Barca is either absent or dysfunctional 4. Indiscipline and ugly politics have always dogged them 5. Their tactics, as seen in the QF of the last world cup, border on stupidity 6. They are always inconsistent 7. At best, they are (like African countries), just a producer of world class talents like Aguerro, Messi, Pastore, Zarate etc.
