If you notice at most laps, the lap record is M Schumacher. He had a faster car, low fuel load not withstanding, was also a damn good driver.
Schumi in his prime a far better driver than vettel, alonso, hamilton

Lucky for Nick

Good for Nick Heifield, Next season he will get a chance to race there. Robert will return next season and will be at Renault. I just Pray that Sebastian Vettal doesn't join them just to say that he is a German else he will no longer be what he is.

moot point - at 42 you are not at prime
by wizardo id on May 10, 2011 04:43 PM  | Hide replies

F1 requires quick reaction times. at 42, his body is simply not at its prime as opposed to a few years back. besides in F1 the car plays about 60% of the factor, mercedes is not the top dog now. anyone who knows a bit about F1 will trash this article instantly.

there's also a thing about ageing, every 10 years the body loses 5% of peak metabolism rate from the teens, so Schumi is already a good 10-15% or more down at 42! his best days where when he competed with an inferior ferrari and he hd soem of the greatest races with mika hakkinen

One should retire when people ask why; not why not?
