Dear Mr. Verma, There was a league for Hockey started by Star sports in India. The response was good at the start then it slowly faded away. Maybe they could give a try again

Bal,

You are right.. It is pity to not see any comment here. We really need some great push to this game. I wish one businessman come up spend good money on this game.

But we also need some results soon.. Saina Nehwal brought laurels to Country. She also had tough time..

I can only wish very best luck to these guys. Cricket .. Cricket..It is an overdoze now. We can play Basketball, Hockey, Tennis, Badminton, TT and bring more fame to country. All it needs some financial pushup..

Hello...is someone listening ?

Good point. We have stopped performing even decently in most sports. And end result no one cares. Hope India can get back some momentum in hockey. Some major trophy like Olympics or World cup will do a world of good. At least Olympic medal.

Hi Baljinder,
No one should be forced to do anything. Even no one is forcing people to comment on a cricket column. It just comes from heart and that's it.
Don't make a fuss about everything. If people love hockey they will see else they won't.
Why don't you compare the same with baseball, basketball, rugby or other sport on which people in india are least interested. This is becoz they don't have interest in that sport that's it.

The problem is that people of India like entertainment, and least interested in sports. Cricket is more entertainment than sports and players have same status as of the film stars. Thats why Cricket is popular in India. In which game other than cricket our countrymen will find uninterrupted 9 hours/day, and sometimes 5 days of entertainment as time pass.

Thats why Anand becoming world chess champion, India winning International hockey tournaments, Saina Nehwal reaching to the top of badminton world, Vijender becoming world top boxer do not enthuse the 121 crore people of our country.
