A club in our locality (built for the benefit of a rich few, on cleverly confiscated huge public ground, where the entire neighbourhood used to play) had announced a PRESTIGIOUS PROJECT(!) called PROJECT 2000 with a heavy slogan "TO MILENIUM OLYMPICS.....". Naturally, it had attracted scores of brainless filthy rich to it's fold. A big hype was created, many mini-buses had been purchased & were displayed in the premises for show-off. Leaders came to inaugurate with flowery showers of speeches, gorged n drank sumptuously & left to ogle at their photos next day in the ass-licking media.
It's been 11 years after Millenium now. How much of a World Olympics Power India has become is anybody's guess. The buses were seen rusting & sold afdter after a few years in scrap. But one thing is for sure, the club has become filthy rich if not India's Olympic medal aspirations..........
