self confidence
by christopher christopher on Jun 07, 2011 06:19 PM

it is very easy to beat nadal but roger is doing mistakes becoz of pressure, excitement & lacks self confidence. he should say himself, yes ! I can do it. it is natural as he becomes old, still lot of potential & energy is stored but less self confidence, may be due to the marriage. god bless him & best of luck for the wimbledon.

Nadal the Great
by jam hangzo on Jun 07, 2011 03:40 PM

Nadal had a rough one and half week in Paris. He was not the intense player of the past and it was painful to watch but in the final Nadal proved that he is still the king of clay, the undisputed world No1.His comeback in the 1st set was amazing.I was so sure that he had no chance in the 1st set but he did and won the set and the match. He is a true champion.

I think Federer had chances in 1st set where he was leading by 5-2 and got a set point too. It could be a 5 setters but in favour of Nadal.

Interesting Observation !!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Nadal !!!!
Nadal's 10th Grand Slam is Cricketing Equivalant of 10,000 Test Cricketing Runs !!
Wisden, the cricket magazine had came out with observation vie Standard Daviation Method that One Grand Slam in Golf OR Tennis is Cricketing Equivalant of 1000 Test cricket Runs. This was done to compere Bradman with other sporting legend.
The Fact is, Nadal entered Professional Tennis in 2003 he achievement of 10th GrandSlam in Nine Years !!!
On other hand Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar achieve 10,000 Mark AFTER 15 Years !!!
Nadal IF IN CRICKET is playing at an Average of 72.00( By Standard Daviation Method .... )Ahead of Sachin and Gavaskar !!!
Federer is Way Ahead with 16 Grand Slams
( 16,000 Runs !!! playing at an average of 65.00 !!! )

Wisden's wisdom has tanked if they think 1000 runs = 1 Grandslam.
Ex: No batsmen in history of cricket has scored 2000 runs in an year, while tennis is littered with players that won 2 Grandslams in a year.

On the other hand cricket is littered with batsmen that have scored a thousand runs in their career. Not even 1/5th as many Grandslam winners in Tennis.

Wisden's Observation /Comparison appears to be Correct.
When we see Records from Tennis and Cricket's legedary players, it shows Clear picture.
Cricketing Legends have scored Runs Ranging from 8000 Runs to 14000 Runs.
Tennis Legends on other hand has Won GrandSlam Titles ranging from Eight to Fourteen !!!
Federer is exceptional with
16 Majors !!

Strech this Observation Further to FOOTBALL .
One Goal at World Cup in Football is Equivalant of One GrandSlam Title ***
Watch Recods of Foot Ball Legends.
They have Scored Ranging from Eight to 15 Goals at World Cup .

A premature message

This message is premature, as the match is still going on. I am assuming that Nadal has already won.
I am no expert on Tennis as some guys here claim to be. I know such experts are going to blame it on Clay Court where Nadal seems to reign supreme. But it is not the Court alone. Nadal's fighting spirit, his superior physical fitness, his never give up attitude, and his aggressive intent are at least as much responsible for this result as the Red Clay.
Nadal's fighting spirit is never more in evidence than on Break Points. Federer was up 40-0 in the first game of the fourth set, but he failed to win it. Federer had no chance against Nadal.
And on a Technical note, Nadal may not be having the biggest serve in the game, but his Service is the most difficult to pick.

Nadal was lucky . There were so many break points on his serve that it is fairly obvious he's not going to remain world no.1 for long on hardcourts.

First set and 2nd set were both lost by federer.

Do not cry and congratulate the winner, look at what Fedex said about Nadal, an deserving winner and all time great on clay.
Dude u talking about 2nd set lost by Fedex, that means u havnt saw the match, the set was always in pocket of Nadal, its just gone in tie break where Fedex was having no match against Nadal defence.
With all respect to fedex for his achvmnt, Fedex never look like beating Nadal.
Vamos Rafa, u r an tru champion....

Roger takes a set off Nadal!
Now this is not what he should have done.
Nadal is going to come back at him like a roaring tiger.
And if it gets to the fifth set, which I doubt, Federer simply does not have a chance.
He never had a chance.

Great champions wait until the right moment - Rafa Nadal
by Another Critic on Jun 06, 2011 03:53 AM  | Hide replies

After losing in Rome Final to Novak again right before the French Open, Rafa quoted "The great champions are not those who can be champion each week, but those who can afford to wait until the right moment."

And two weeks down the line, Rafa grabs his moment and claims his 6th French Open crown. 10 Grand Slams, counting and still going strong. VAMOS.

Federer Lost. Not much like Nadal won
by Manian Vasudevan on Jun 06, 2011 02:18 AM  | Hide replies

Nadal's latest win at French Open should be dedicated came merely because of the number of unforced errors Federer committed. Just ahead of the last couple of games, the statistic read as under :

Federer (53 U/f Errors - 53 Winners)
Nadal (26 Winners - 36 Unforced errors)

So, it is clear that Federer was producing constant winners. However, at crucial stages, he committed many u/f errors, to gift the Tropy to Nadal.

I am 100% sure that Nadal could NOT defend his Wimbledon title.

YES I agree with Mr. Rajiv Pandey. Nadal's top spin makes the opponent to go for erratic shots and unforced errors. Two days back Federer was pin point with Djokovic. Also, Nadal makes his opponent run so much (although he himself runs so much and that does not affect his game)that they are nor able to reach the ball properly to play a correct shot. Anyway, it was not that a cracker of a final. But yes tennis fan would have enjoyed it.

Please understand the word "UNFORCED" errors. That means the mistake was done without being forced to commit. It was a match lost by Federer on his own and not because of Nadal's talent.

Psychologically fedex is not fit to play Nadal. Nadal keeps calm and control when he plays Fedex, while against others he plays casually.

I don't know where you got the stats.

The Roland Garros website has the following for the match
Fed 53 winners, 56 unforced errors (-3)
Nadal 39 winners, 27 unforced errors ( 12)

That was the difference in the match.

Ahahahahahha, great point Nashik.
Manian, have heart to accept the defeat, he has been beaten by the greatest of all time on clay, its not first final but fourth final at rolland garros.
Stats doesnt always say everythng, the stats showing so much unforced error is debatable, its Nadal fighting spirit, his top spin and cross court shorts are difficult to control and opponent making mistakes and stats showing unforced eror.
Look at Nadal first word what he said after the match, congrats Fedex and sorry for this, u played well and ur team have done a great Job.
People were saying the same about French open before start that he wont b able defend, he proove everyone wrong, Nadal with French open in pocket, he will be roaring at wimbledon too, dont worry, he will be one of the player to watch out for, i cant see Nadal have much challenge till SF, after that its anyone game.
