Final

Nadal has the advantage in French open compared to Novak as Aftab righly pointed out, but I wish and hope some magic from Federer.....can he do it...it seems to be very difficult as Federer was not being able to defeat Nadal when he was in his prime form.

M friends, could u plz explain me, at the start of tournament, Nadal was ahead of Nova in ranking with some points difference.
Till now Nova has won one less match than Nadal and reached the same level where Nadal is, how come Nova will become number one if he reach Final.

joker lost in qf last yr. Rafa won it. So when ranking will be release joker will gain & rafa will remain same.
it is not the matches but more tournament won by joker.
disadvantage with nadal is he won 3 gs last year & joker was lost in qf in two.
so very hard to stop him for year end no1 ranking

I still little bit but not completly, how can he will become number 1 if Rafa havent lost yet, If rafa loosing now and Nova winning it then i can understand, but when both of them reached to same level in same tournament, so ideally both of them shd get same points.
If Rafa is leading in ranking to start the tournament, the gap should be remain same.
Just trying to undrstand, plz explain if u can.
Thanks...

sandeep singh is right.

Rafa is the defending French champion and is defending his points. If Rafa wins French Open 2011 he will not gain any points but only defend his points. For Rafa to gain more points from French Open 2011, Rafa needs to do better than what he did at French Open 2010, which is impossible as tournament ends with a final and the best Rafa can do is win the French Open. On the other hand, if Rafa loses in SF and F, Rafa will lose points.

Djokovic reached QF in the French Open 2010. If Djokovic reaches French 2011 SF, F or even wins it, he will gain points.

Rafa will not gain any points out of French 2011 even if he wins it. However, Djokovic has already started gaining points out of French 2011 since he is already into SF.

Same applies to Wimbledon and US Open because Rafa had a great year in 2010 and have to defend all those points this year. The same applies to Djokovic, he had a phenomenal year 2011 and won 7 tournaments already and would be defending all these points in 2012.

in atp ranking, 1year is counted.
last year tournament points are removed & this year points are added.
So if nadal win rg
12070-2000 2000 = 12070
if joker reach final
11665-360 1200 =12505
this is only reason, rafa wants 2 yr ranking system, then point will not be lost for last yr.
in this yr , major loser with 1 yr ranking will be, nadal & fedrer.both need to defend lots of points now.

Final.....

Most probably it's going to be Djokovic VS Nadal final. If someone can break Djokovic winning streak that is definitely Federer. If Djokovic overcome the Federer he will sure lift the French Open this year.

U r hafl right man, its clay where Nadal has more than 95% winning record, at Rolland garros he has lost only one match in last 7 years, in this tournament, he has reached Semis without playing well but improving by every passing day, Federer can stop Nova but so the Nadal is.
Nova is favourite for me to win.
1. Nova 50%
2. Nadal 30%
3. Dedex 15%
4. Andy 5%

In current tournament Federer is yet to lose a single set. So he has better chance to stop Djokovic. Nadal has lost 4 times this year against Djokovic in which 2 times on clay.

Look i would have agreed with u if it wud have any other court, on clay in five set possible match, Nadal has around 225 wins against mere 8 or 9 losses on clay in his career, I m not saying Federer cant beat Nova (Nova beat federer thrice in row this year) but so the Nadal is.

Well spoken like a true doofus, your prejudice drips from your every word.STFU already.Djokovic needs no help to 'overcome' Federer...it's FedUp who needs to play beyond himself to even challenge Djoko the way he is currently playing. If anyone can stop Djoko winning streak its Nadal...the all time greatest on clay, plus 5 times champion already, in case your tennis 'knowledge' deserted you...At least you didnt make any 'prediction' this time..meaning your maybe learning your lessons finally.
