Check out French open final Nadal vs Federrer..u will understand.. the score line..match finished in less than 2 hrs..Nadal beat Federrer in 3 straight sets..incl 6-2 and 6-0..out of three sets.. haha
Murray(Tennis) and Messi(Soccer) are as alike as two peas in a pod. they perform consistently well in less important matches and tournaments. and when they play major tournaments (i.e. Grandslams/ FIFA world cup and Copa America) they are completely different players, they fail to deliver and often fail to live upto the expectation.

Yes, murray still needs to better his game against Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.

You are wrong. They may not be as good as their opponents when they face them in last few rounds of a major tournament. So far they were beaten by better players hence can not be termed as upsets.

It's not about upsets but about playing, it's like giving in before the opponent,if you look at the recent concluded wimbledon, Murray was going great gun, he was trouncing every opponent untill he met Nadal, but it was a tame surrender from the scot, going down 7-5,2-6,2-6,4-6 everyone expected the match to be a 5 setter and interesting. similarly Messi was Barcelona's main weapon in champions league, but performing for argentina in Copa America he has failed to impress so far. and Argentina is on the verge of exit.

As far as Messi is concerned, Football is a team game and you would need support of other players to succeed as a team. In Barcelona, Messi has teammates like Xavi and Iniesta who match his speed and class to deliver great results but the Argentina team does not have lack quality midfielders to deliver good balls to Messi.
