great effort from the slighlty built indian who infact is the lone ranger among indians on the singles circuit of the atp. anybody who follows tennis would realise the stiffness of competition in the atp tennis tour and how tough it is to get into the top 100, never mind the loss in the final against a hometown player ranked higher than him, thiis is great start to the year for somdev.
WHy SO much Hulla boo on Spomdevs Defeat ... People are saying Better Luck Next Time ... He is ranked 80, Sania Mirza was ranked i 30's.. Still whenever she used to lods ... people in forum used to abuse her ... blody communal minded people ...

I dont really think that somdev has the game to reach TOP 25. He has been around for 3 years and barring chennai open 09 he had not beaten any TOP 70 player. Even in this tournament the player whom he beat all were out of top 150. I think at best he can reach TOP 60 but will be difficult to stay there for him.

some you just like to chat foolishness, somdev is three time finalist and two time champion of NCAA, its a rare feet done by elites like mcenroe, courier not even sampras did that but i am not saying he is like sampras but he is doing his best. Not so crazy sports country like india (except cricket) he trying against the odds, if you can encourage the do it otherwise shutup and move on, i know some of you not even good at what you were doing now and like to talk about others. I like my country sports personnel doesnt matter if they win or not...you go somdev and ignore the fools.
