This is crazy

A nation that has hardly any impact on the olympics makes a huge noise just to placate the domestic audience. Has any other nation objected to DOW? DOW just happens to be a company that took over Union Carbide whose Bhopal Plant ended in a gruesome tragedy. Does that mean nobody should take over a company? Does that mean DOW should not sponsor Olympics? Fortunately now these guys are not talking of boycotting London Olmypics. Do we really matter?

When you take over a company, you are also responsible for the liabilities for the old company. Dow has taken over other companies which have had accidents in the U.S. and provided compensation in those cases, but not with union carbide because it can get away. Executives from the company are also wanted in india in court cases related to these, but have been hiding from our courts. You can be sure that they would have paid up had the tragedy happened in the U.S.
