For sure, shifting to Badminton is the best option for Sania. Her Forehand can make wonders in Badminton. She has physical limitations in Tennis. Those who have defeated Sania are ONLY physically strong and NOT because they talented . In badminton she will NOT have to face likes of Williams sisters,Sharapova, Cliesters etc. If Saina Nehwal can reach as high as World No 3 Position , why not Sania IF she shifts to Badminton.
now that sania has again lost in the first round there will be a lot of sania bashing. it is really sad that our best tennis player is so treated.
when you people bash her please understand that sania is the best indian woman tennis player so far.
dont just go by the first round losses. we have to also see whether the players she lost in the first round were good or not. the pairing is done according to seeding. the best players dont play among themselves at the start. the pairings are made in such a way that if everything goes as per expectations and their are no upsets the best 2 players will meet in the final.
that means the top seeded usually start by playing the weaker seeded players in the first round. naturally the higher seeded player is expected to go through the next round.
so it is also important to see whether all the first round losses she had whether she was the higher or lower seed and she was expected to go through to the next round or not...

Is Sania really an INDIAN tennis player? I am not asking because she lost US Open in the first round. Legally she may be an Indian Passport holder, that does not make her an Indian because after her marriage to a Pakistani , she does not live in India, in behaviour and culture, in mind and spirit, she is hardly an Indian. I think we are making too much of fuss about her both when she loses and when she loses.

bharat sant she is not the ONLY indian who does not live in india. btw there are also many indians who have dual citizenships.
also if sania does not live in india and so she cannot be called indain then neither does she live in pakistan so she cannot be called pakistani either...
if she sometimes visits pakistan therefore she is a pakistani then she also visits india sometimes and therefore can be called an indian...
Actually she won first set, she should have won second as well. U S Open / Hard Court is her favourite surface, it was here,in 2005 she reached her career best Q/F . It is unfortunate that she has to go out in first round this time. This is her 25th grand Slam appearence from Australian Open 2005

Nothing unfortunate. We in India have the habit of making too much fuss about "certain" people like Sania, Sachin. We start singing a chorus that they are 'bharat ratna' quality. No body dares to say otherwise! With age, they start losing their alertness, agility, and quick-response. Sania and Sachin should understand this and make a graceful exit before we get 'sympathetic' to them.
