If Sania Mirza is world no 63, there is a complete lack of depth in women's tennis. She "crashes out" in the 1st/2nd round of every major tournament. How can her singles ranking be 63?

In Women's Tennis, the top 30 only matter, as there is intense competition among the top 30 players. On any day, anybody in top 30 could beat any other top seed. But beyond that the level really drops. Sadly, even in this situation, India could have only one Sania in the top 100. That shows the focus the sport gets in India.
