I am a fan of Sachin and eagerly waiting for his 100th 100. But awarding him or even suggesting his name for nation's biggest award is nothing short of belittling Bharat ratna. Remember the case of his Ferrari tax exemption request. This is a flaw. His affinity to IPL and submissive attittude towards BCCI bosses are nothing inspirational.
And if at all, we are hell bent on giving Bharat ratna to a cricketer Dravid deserves it better than anyone else.

Agreed 200 %.Tendulkar is a publicised item who after playing this much can not even lead from front, he always wanted to open,wanted only to bat but still scoring big zeros is a shame.Becaus of him Dravid Ganguly and Laxman who are far far far better than him are not rewarded to that extent. BharatRatna to him would be an insult to the highest award.
Indias best ever batsman Sunny Gavaskar deserves Bharat Ratna more than any cricketer as he is the real time saviour of India so many times is 70s and 80s when India was struggling to be an elite team.
Its a trend in India to criticize a populare person to get popularity.... Sachin never praposed his name For Bharat Ratna... & why the guys r aftr him for that, were they sleeping untill now, why thy didnt start there campaigne long ago for Dhayan chand... & Mr. Minister plz tell the Rate for how much Sachin is Bought & Sold... one should never speak untill he dont knws the fact... Sachin is consider fr Award for the service he gave to Indian Cricket for 20 yrs. One bad series & all achievement is forgotten... Whn ever he score it is added in team score so how he become selfish..... & above all this is not the first tym India loose in foreign tour.. So chill & enjoy cricket or shut ur t.v. who's asking to see.. this is a ur choice to see or not to see...
sachin should have abstained from IPL and concentrated on tests and england tour.... unfortunately he too drained his energies in useless IPL and now we are disgraced by english side...they are playing us like we are some high school team

sachin is not playing IPL just for sake of money....he already has fortunes.... he is just playing to be in the game....but he should concentrate more on test cric ...create some good landmarks for india rather than waste energies on IPL

why is so that if India lose u look at Sachin & targate him He is neither captain nor only batsmen in team, if he had scored century like Dravid & still India loses u called him Omen(panuty)... Well if by chance Indai won itby his cotribution It will be called Dhoni's Charisma... or Collective Efforts... Spare Sachin guys he is Contributing for 20yrs, its a one bad series for whole team.
I agree BCCI should create circumstances to help selfish Sachin score a century in this tour , after all he is the greatest athlete in the history of the human kind on the planet earth who is also considering business ventures while he is on tour and that keeps him busy , but he should be allowed to do that as he is a Saraswat Brahmin being the favorite Shishya of goddess Saraswati.Imagine if Zaheer or Irfan had taken care of a business venture while on the tour , but yes we owe Sachin all these opportunities , be it tax free Ferrari or his ability to indulge in busines venture while on a official tour after all India is for the Brahmins , Of the Brahmins.
If Sachin in spite of being given given special circumstances by using BCCI influence (like pressurizing umpires to never give Sachin LBW etc and having Shastri on the commentators box who would be extolling the god of Indian cricket all along ) we should ask Newzealand to tour India in hot summer so that Sachin ca score a century in a small stadium in tier II city in India. I hope I speak for all devotees of Sachin the god of Indian cricket and keep quiet Geoffrey Boycott and we love you Tony Greig and ofcourse Ravi Shastri.

Sachin should continue to pay IPL. It is right of every INdian to make as much money as he likes. Nobody can stop him from that. Sachin shoul migrate to Australia and play tests for the Aus side that will be best of both worlds for him. Quit India, migrate to Aus, play IPL, play tests for Aus.
Sachin should not be awarded Bharatratna. it would be greatest mockery of the prestigious award. how can u take sachin's name with those of Gandhis, Vishweshwariahs, Shastris, Karves etc. these greats have at times have given their lives for the sake of this country, for humanity. don't degrade this award.

Scamsters like Indiraji, Rajivji have been awarded Bharat Ratna. Sachin should decline Bharat Ratna even if it is awarded to him. Only scamsters and fraudsters who loot the nation deserve Bharat Ratna.

what this means is merit is not a necessary condition for winning the award. Means people who win the award may not necessarily have merit. What is the use of the award then if the criterion can be anything other than merit.

Bharat Ratna is reserved for scamster, fraudsters and cheats like RG, IG, Dhirubhai. Sachin should not spoil his reputation by accepting Bharat Ratna if awarded.

What about Indiraji, Rajivji, Dhirubhaiji? What it means criteria for awarding the highest civilian honour in the country are flexible and depend on the sweet will of people who matter. Merit is not a necessary condition. Accept that.

As gar as Dhirubhai is concerned, look at the emplyment that was generated by Reliance. He may have been a fraud. See Reliance that was started with only Rs. 15000 - now to become a fortune 500 company.

Breaking laws of land, exploiting people to make money these are okay to win awards? Ditto for IG who immposed emergency, perpetrated scams etc, allowed crores of Bangladeshis to infiltrate the country? So it is okay with you. People who harm the country and the interests of citizens should not get awards- that is the bottomline, no matter what may be their achievements.

u should need sum study, Bharat Ratna is not given to onlu those who died for India, & in sports u cant die... If cricketer r earning more than ur family do so why to be jealous... atleast they r not eating ur Tax money... The name u mentiond above Does... Indira, Rajeev did....
I don't know why people on this forum are either criticizing Sachin or Shiv raj Singh Chouhan. Shiv Raj Singh has made a statement and that could be his personal and there is nothing wrong in that. He has not criticized Sachin for anything and just making his point. AS far as Major Dhyanchand is concerned I think people here know a little about him. Pls read about him first. And because there was not a provision in our constitution to award bharat Ratna to a sports person, he wasn't given an award earlier. Personally I wud like both dhyanchand and sachin to be Bharat Ratnas.
This is what we call a classic case of unwated preaching.
While IPL is the most important reason for India to have fared so badly this summer in England as many players got injured playing for big bucks, these advices coming from Politicians of our country is unwarranted.
