Who else taken India in any kind of sport to reach the honour in world�s view?..and stayed in his best form for long time... Be honest to you, to accept this. Many people knows that there were times when many indians switch off their TV once sachin got out. He may not be a match winner but HE has give some good values to INDIAN CRICKET and lot of inspiration to young talents..Respecting this legend is a Great Idea..

I agree sachin has a huge contribution to cricket, but he is the person who sold of his ferari which was given as a gift, to recognise his career. he did not honor that. he is not the only icon we have, as truely said, maj. dhyanchand is a beter choice along with sir milkhasingh, PT usha, who brough grace to our country without earning a penny,
A player plays for the country and not for companies like IPL .Reserve this for personalities who make a difference to the society through science, technology, administration or social service.
Sachin does not deserve this. True that he represented India for a long time, created several records but what good has it done for society other than his associations with charity maybe?
Sachin was a child prodigy, and other than amassing mountains of runs,and money his win record with the team is not that colorful. Afterall a sportsman should play to win and not break records.
You give to a Musician and he is being paid and purchased by many. He will play any form as long it is a legal match by BCCI. Bharat Ratna for what, his grandson can not sell the sheild and eat after 40 years or so.

so u mean it is better to scrap the award! PS: though i like sachin, i dont think rules for awarding bharat ratna should be changed to suit any XYZ's requirement.
