I dont understanmd on why a minority of Indians are so passionate about football in India. We indians are not suited for physical games like football, and it mainly suits africans and europeans. Arent we the world champs in cricket?? We should be proud of the fact that we are champs in a cerebral analytical game like cricket, than a 100 minute tackle-fest which is mainly about power and little else. In addition we have champs in chess, shooting,badminton etc. So what needs to be done is identifying our sretngths and further developing them. For ex, we should remain no1 in cricket, and given the talent that we have shouldnt be too hard.And in a few other sports as well. And leave running and football and baseball to foreigners.

Mr. Sandeep, i can understand you r die hard cricket fan and dont know any thing about other sports. Whatever you say Cricket is richman's game other sports like Football, Hockey, Volleyball and Basket ball are poorman's game. Most of the players in India who plays these games are all from poor and rural back ground. when you see their stories all these players would have undergone all the perils of poverty, hunger etc., These players would have taken these games seriously so that they can get jobs in public sector undertakings. Whereas these kind of set up is not in cricket and it is not possible in cricket. Show me one player who is from the rural area who has undergone poverty in his earlier child hood are shining in cricket today?. Most of the players are from rich or middleclass and definetly from urban areas. Morethan 50% of the population are from rural areas. These players cant take cricket seriously as the career option because there is no guarentee for growth whereas in other sports there is a minimum job guarantee is there for them. Pls try to understand the reality and support other sports also.
