i have noticed that most of the persons have negative comments on sania.she reached the quarter-final, but even then she gets only abuses, whereas other tennis players like yuki bhambri even if they lose in the 1st round are praised. it appears that the abuses for her are for well known reasons.the chinese player to whom she lost is much higher ranked player than sania. when the other hyderabadi girl(badminton) loses to chinese players, these same critics fall silent. saina won the swiss open last month,in which no chinese & danish players participated,similarly now she will win the indian open starting from april 26th, where also no chinese,danish & japanese players are taking part.sania mirza can also win indian open if no higher ranking players participate.

I agree with your comments on Sania , but not those on Saina . She did win the Indonesian open super series last year beating higher ranked players . At present she'll find it difficult to play higher ranked players for the simple reason that she is ranked 3 in the world and only 2 others are better ranked than her . Hardly something you can blame her for , is it ?

i agree with you mr nair, but you should remember that only around 20-25 countries play badminton: usa,canada,latin american,east european countries,spain,italy etc do not play.whereas the competition in tennis is much tougher, players of more than 80 countries participate in tennis events,which presently is dominated by europe. therefore chances of sania mirza winning are rarer. moreover some of the ladies players like tina baun(denmark) who won the all-england event last year, participates only in elite events having higher prize money.unfortunately due to this miss baun has a lower world ranking.

She is Indian by birth. But her heart beats for Shoyab who is Pakistani. It is pity that people representing the country give preference to their religion than country. How you think if a central minister marries a pakistani? It is not correct because he is representing our country.

Where is she giving preference to her religion . She gave preference to love over nationality for marriage , but she gave prefernce to her motherland over her husband's country while deciding who to play for . Does that make her a traitor or a patriot ? I know India and Pakistan have been enemies for a long time but that is between governments . If we let that influence every individual matter ,it simply isn't right .

Although she is married to a Pakistani she still loves India. Don't forget she won medals for India in Commonwealth and Asian games even after marriage. Where were u all when she won these medals? That time no one complained. Don't be hypocratical.

Pakistan, in its text books itself starts Anti _India campaign and hence every Paki child becomes Anti-Indian,although begging for Hindu Money like Afridi did -"Dont treat us as Untouvchables"!!They have only anti-India sentiments and are just boiling to hurt India in any & every ways!!Only thing is that they are helpless and hence they are asking for Dialogue,as Najam Sethi - one of prominent paki Journalist pointed out that changing status quo and having dialogue is in the interest of pakistan,not reamaining quiet!!
