Tourist to India
by marylouise sillman on Oct 01, 2010 03:21 PM

I have traveled to India 6 times, enjoying the country and its warm hearted people.Upon each return to interesting India, I hope to find better sanitation and water facilities for its citizens. Also,at the major tourist sites, Taj,Amber Fort,Varenasi, Golden Temple, city of Delhi. Admiring India for its past glorious history, I always hope that the distaseful conditions being viewed around the world now with the Games, will be a wake up call to those who promote India as a travel destination. Enormous amounts of income from tourists will be lost in the hotel, tour, food, souvenir business during the next year as a result of the ugly photos and portrayal of the Games
shoddy preparation. INDIA is a marvelous country with much to offer the Tourist and their ability to spend money as visitors. The Travel Industry is a powerful group.....can they not lead a campaign to
"Clean Up" tourist destinations? Photos of THE TAJ
are published with all liter around it and in the Yamuna River deleated. Tourists arrive and are shocked by the dirty conditions found there. The same at all major tourist sites. Its WAKE UP time to enable India to welcome Tourists again, this year.

What does the common Indian stand to gain
by piri on Sep 26, 2010 02:53 PM

if the CWG is conducted and larger ignominy for Indian organisers is avoided ??

Nothing at all !

In fact, the commoner ought to wish that the CWG is bungled in the most inept way so that he can retain some hope that some effective spotlight falls on the massive corruption behind every public venture in India !!

And in certain vital human development parameters like sanitation, child and maternal mortality rates, etc., we are far behind most of the poorest countries of the world such as Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Chad, Pakistan, etc. !!!

Pras Durafe
Busy Prime Minister
by Pras Durafe on Sep 26, 2010 01:37 PM

Our PM Manmohan Singh is extremely busy. CWG officials visited him and gave details about preparation of CWG and Manmohan Singh is happy to know the progress... what a joke. Our PM is in Delhi and he can always visit sites to see inspections instead of believing corrupt officials. :)-
