What do you mean silly things? Overflowing craps in toilets and broken beds are silly stuffs..? waiting to enter an accommodation is silly to you? this is the mindset that politicians are taking advantage of! stop judging yourself ..what may look silly to you isn't that way to others!! so, judge by the most conservative standards, yet reasonable ones! after a dog's day, a player would obviously wish to rest well!! how can this be silly when he gets to field with a broken leg!! gandhiji's tolerance was not accepting all the crap that our politicians are spitting on us!! If anything media is doing its job. Let the whole world know how Indians struggle with the 60 years of heavily squandered indian independence!

Indian athletes are expected to relieve themselves in the front or backyard yard of athletes quarters or by the railway line. It was wrong on the part of Akhilkumarji to have used the bed meant for stray dogs. He was expected to sleep on the floor by Indian standrads of CWG org committee. He must go and punch them first as part of rigorous training.

strengthen trade union movement to improve quality
by Ramesh on Sep 25, 2010 10:39 PM  | Hide replies

CWG inconsistent quality levels is not only reflective of rampant corruption, it is also about ridiculously low wages paid to our labour all over India. It is about using unorganised, very low cost labour who are paid literally unlivable wages of very low quality of life.

We need to improve general standard of living of our labour first to obtain higher hygenic and cleanliness standards in such public events. The current political forces are totally inimical to trade union movements and repressed those edicts with muscle power.

These seamier sides of our business ethos need to be understood as the root cause of pitiable standards manifest not just in CWG but almost everywhere.

We need to ask how many of these labourers who do the work have access to clean toilets, even a wooden bed.

Even if you give high wages, do you think they will go pay & use toilet?

Your statement reflects the deep divide. You need to be sensitized to Indian reality. Fortunately my first five years of schooling was in a Hindi medium, all my classmates were, had fathers who used to be called Class-IV employees, many of them Bihari Muslims.

Believe me, if MMS takes the political risk to give green signal to organise union movement amongst our largely unorganised work force who work on these public projects, road construction etc there will be dramatic impact on quality and ses change in their wage levels. We need to create a formidable lower-middle class as a backbone of our economy.

Worker resistance via unions imparts dignity to workers. This dignity can be translated to pride in workmanship by healthy management policy. This professionalization of
workforce is critical to Indian development and success in endevour like CWG.

Those who have an inkling of the resistance involved know what the real stakes are and how it would change the ground realities in India. The same muscle power which went into Delhi carnage of Sikhs after IG demise, maintain such law on daily basis amongst workmen.

Difficult to create congenial atmoshpere for healthy labour movement which would trigger demands for living wages and quality life on a continual long term basis and induct a tectonic change. Suc professional workforce is possible only when taxes are full paid and business wholly legit, i.e. corporatisation of Indian consturction and a host of industries which work in a semi-organised format.

Hopefully CWG setbacks delivers such long term change for making of a colourful India.

Outcome of a disease
by katy on Sep 25, 2010 10:37 PM

Doctors get to know the disease by asking the symptoms . Disease is corruption . Level is higher than Africa and Pakistan put together . When the first DDA Flat was made it started . All got the message. When Pratibha Patil was chosen in place of giving instead second term to Abdul kalam a green signal was givn . We love the corrupt . We stand up when these politicians come in meetings and give them our respect and tax money . 1000 died in by Blue line buses we are not bothered as our relatives did not die . Every petrol pump in India is run by a criminal politician . We should set up of Institute of Corruption nobody can beat us . Even now sadly Indian Army has turned corrupt except poor jawans. It buys things costing Rs.1 in Rs.50 . Day is not far when chinese will attack will be in New Delhi and Chennai too. They don't care whether you are North Indian or South Indian
and Pakistanis will come with chinese . We ask what is wrong with CWG

Kahan Chandra Babu Naidu (CBN) aur Kahan Mannu Mohini Singh (MMS).

MOdi was right. Even if Man Mohini Singh crawls and cleans up the CWG with his turban, even so the mess will not get cleared.

Modi and Aiyar were right in criticizing this CWG.
