CWG
by Viswanathan on Sep 24, 2010 05:01 PM

Suresh Kalmadi and his associates, who were given the responsibility of CWG infrastructure preparations have brought disrepute to the country. If the same job had been given to Modi he would have made it a success.

Dhiresh K:

How can Media bring out something which does not exist? :)

In fact YOU should be asking the question - "Our lot of money is spent on this. Where is it showing in the form of results?" :)

Man,.. Knowingly India is not capable like China in organizing the Games.. Should have even drop the idea of bidding for the Games.. Now, the image of India is at stake..

Countries with much lesser population like Malaysia, Singapore, and perhaps Brunei able to organize the Games..

Remember Commonwealth Games '98..

Responsibility
by Ravi on Sep 24, 2010 12:30 PM  | Hide replies

After bagging the CW games, responsibility of organizing the event should have been given to Private sector. BCCI organizes huge events like IPL and world cup without any fuss because there is no Government intervention. IPL is a huge tourment, is organized in many cities, there are large number of matches, is played over 45 day period, but still is organized beautifully and toip of that makes profit. This shows the difference in organizing capabilities.

By the way these atheletes are made of gold or what? Where is sportsman's spirit? These people are coming to win medals or sleep in 5-star hotels?

i disagree with you .
Sportspersons from other countries don't expect 5star facilities but if a country host an international event, then, facilities should be in the 'international standard'. Just go and see how 'Guangzhou, China' prepares for the Asian Games; everything is ready well ahead of time, playgrounds, hotels, gyms, restaurants, you name it, its ready there. Now, compare it with our CWG games, its pathetic. In fact, New Delhi is our capital city while Guangzhou is only 2nd level city but still they made it ready well ahead of time. I dont see any pride for India in hosting this CWG. In my view, CWG is a shame on us bcoz it reminds us about the 'slavery rule' by UK on us. If I am a sportsman, I would never participate in CWG but I would be proud to participate in Asian Games & Olypmic. Patriotic citizens should reject CWG.

KV,well my message was out of frustration, whatever is the situation in India,we must also admit that these australians and kiwis have double standards and pseudo -aprehensions when it comes to India..

I am in China and aware of the things year.We must appreciate Chinese national pride which we Indians are lacking. However,I also remember that western media also published lot of negative news prior to Beijing Olympic.

The site you mentioned is not accessible here.Is there any mistake in the name?or it may be blocked !!

Why blame them when even ministers within govt have exposed the corruption which was deliberately underplayed by our so called PM.MMS should actually take the responsibility for damaging our reputation & media has only done a favor to people by exposing rampant corruption right under the nose of 10Janpath.
