CWG: a nations lament
by Bodh Ramdeo on Sep 25, 2010 07:57 AM

Only now he's upset about the shameful shoddiness and ineptitiude???
Where was he all these past seven years??
Everyone knew since 2003 that this country was hosting the games, and worse, His govt has been in power all these years- UPA-1 & UPA-2.
It's a bit late in the "game" to start pointing fingers. The buck stops at his desk!

PM's anguish over CWG
by balakrishnan nair on Sep 25, 2010 07:47 AM

PM was right in castigating Sheila and Gill. Sheila was lucky to get E Sreedharan to complete Metro. She did not have to spent a slepless night even for a day on Metro. Still many tried to stop him but he did not yield. For such honest people, it is difficult to function in this country. There are honest people but they are not given freedom and reward to do their job. Illiterate politicians think that they know everything from cattle rearing to flying aeroplanes. See the dirt because of paan chew everywhere. Why not ban gutka and paan completely. Why not ban thin plastic bags. Those companies who manufacture them, punish them. Those who manufacture the dyes for plastic and such factories be closed down. At school level, students should be inculcated cleanliness. We wake up only at the last moment. Now you will see what will happen to the village after the Games. It will just decay for I am sure they would not have thought out how to use it in future.

Indian traits
by Rk Sharma on Sep 25, 2010 05:00 AM  | Hide replies

Indians ARE talented. In being crooked, in being corrupt, in lying and cheating with impunity, in being thick-skinned, in being hypocritic, prudish and indisciplined, Indians have exceptionally strong talents

Rubbish
by mohit anand on Sep 25, 2010 03:28 AM

As usual, rediff is trying to salvage something for Congress. If PM is really unhappy, first thing he has to do is come on national tv and accept the mistakes. Then pur Kalmadi in Jail followed by Gill Jaipal reddy Bhanot and Sheila Dikshit. Let's see if he has the balls to do any of this, then we'd know how sorry he really is.

Media is not making India proud
by rajesh r on Sep 25, 2010 01:44 AM

I think the media is given too much freedom in India. They are ridiculing India/Indians all the time showing pictures and stuff. Some stupid send pictures of children carrying their parent's hand tools and saying its child labor, ridiculous behavior. If there is a problem in our country, then we should try to solve it not start blaming who ever is on its way. Lets solve the problem and then start to criticize whoever is at fault.

by Suneeta on Sep 25, 2010 01:36 AM  | Hide replies

Wow so great that PM has slammed Dikshit etc. Guess, we have been sleeping till now:) No wonder he is the PM:) I guess even the author must be impressed with PM.
Its a shame that PM has to intervene. And if he had to , he should have done that a year ago, when preparations should have been over. Down with PM too. Article on same may be published.
