need justice
by moron on Sep 22, 2010 09:35 PM  | Hide replies

enough is enough. politicians who are responsible for his chaos and who have been tremendously benefitted by these games need to be prosecuted. Hope this is the least we can expect from the Congress Govt. we the citizens are taken so much for granted that if we dont make our demands clear these politicians will definately sell us 1 day. Give us a/c for each penny spent in name of the games for its the tax payers hard earned money that has been wasted in such bad form and Indians outside India have to be a laughing stock for the mistakes of the politiicans.

Well....CWG-2010 is a disaster now ! Proved ! But the million dollar question is what next ? Will Kalmadi be arrested and tried in court for wasting soooo much money of tax payers. Will 'Gill' be kicked out ! Will Sheila Dixit resign ?

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. Get ready to see more of Kalmadi smiling with that unkept beard screaming how rain failed the CWG.
Alibies are all ready.......and we the aam janta, as usual will cry on this for some days and will then forget everything....Shame...Shame to us !!!

A farce called CWG 2010
by Debashish Bhattacharyya on Sep 22, 2010 08:04 PM  | Hide replies

The way the preparations for the CWG have been conducted, it is clear that gross mismanagement at all levels (including commitment of pecuniary improprieties, which has resulted in compromising on the building material) is the culprit. The saddest part in the whole episode is the blatant refusal of the people involved (including our Hon. CM, and Shri Kalmadi) to admit that they have goofed up, and therefore not taking any blame. it is as clear as daylight that all the people involved in organising the event are to blame, and hence each one of them should demit the posts that they are holding; else they should be sacked for reasons of non-performance, which is the norm in any self respecting organisation.

Thanks to the ridiculous manner in which the preparations have been managed, our country and countrymen are facing ridicule from our guests from the other countries; this is by way of reporting of "filthy rooms and bathrooms in the Games Village", to withdrawal of participation. Then there are events that are self explanatory - like the collapse of the ceiling at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium and the collapse of the foot-overbridge, for which one does not need to blame the media (foreign or domestic).

Not only do our functionaries are not ready to accept blame, but also they are trying to shame people into "supporting" the "prestigious event", whose prestige has already been compromised by them.

Let us withdraw thw CW games and conduct a function - Slecting the most corrupt contractor, best bribing company, most corrupt politician and so on. I am sure...ther will be a huge mass to watch it. We should even give good coverage...so that next time when we our politicians will bid for it...international forums will keep us away...our nation should keep away for all events till our politicians become less corrupt...let it take 50 more years.

Silver Lining
by dogsaveindia on Sep 22, 2010 06:58 PM  | Hide replies

There is a silver lining in store for India amidst this chaos. If more teams and athletes pull out, then we can win more medals at these games than anywhere else. We will look almost as good as China when they won the most medals in Beijing. So, Kalmadi deserves whatever padma award he will get since India will be the medals tally leader.
We Indians are scr*wed big time and we know it.
