The negative projection of India and Indians as a corrupt and ineffiecient nation and people , will overshadow any positive effects of the games if it goes through . Why did they put a politician at the head of the organising committeeknowing what they are? Then to cap it all they put a bunch of bureaucrats to oversee it . Pathetic.

Look at any sports body in India. It will have a politician holding sway. The hockey federation has an 80 yr old granny heading it!!!Obviously she is a Gandhi family chamcha!
Just why are they interested? The prospect of improving their public image, prospect of looting from sports events, promoting their self-interests...
Kalmadiji is backed by the family and whatever he does, he will get away with it. We are fools taking this seriously as 'national pride'.

Though u r right to a certain extent, no great work will be without any loopholes. Corruption might take place in these works, no doubt. But, we shd accept, appreciate & atleast hope for a good name for India as a whole, ESPECIALLY FROM THE OUTSIDE WORLD (from the participant countries) that India has made enough & comfortable arrangements for the games as well as their stay, security, health measures etc., and they enjoyed here with pleasure & were treated with respect. If this certificate is there from them, nothing else India requires. Pls. remember that corruption will be there. From top to bottom, there won't be atleast some persons who are not 100% clean. What can we do? It can't be avoided. Atleast, let us hope for the best, as far as possible. Country's interest & gaining respect from foreigners is highly important than mitigating corruption while aspiring so. No, doubt, u r right. But, no point in criticising officials & the govt. Atleast the result is seen now and will be proved or certified by foreigners, but not by the us, the Indians.
Let us remember that whatever the govt. is is power in India, development will be there, but with atleast minimum unavoidable corruption in the system.
Good resultws in the end. All the media speculation on games has been proved incorrect. The stadiumsn are ready and so is the accomodation. Cheers to Team India.. We can deal with curruption later.. Lets support India at this time..
When you see such beautiful structures built in India by the Government, you will need calculator to estimate the percentage they must have earned under table. The stupid politician should stop praising the work and leave it to others to judge. The biggest challenge will be security and that is what India should be talking about and convience the world that it is going to be safe. Every body is watching.
