Yes this article is a complete joke, the mere fact that both are born few weeks apart has nothing to do with comparing 2 altogether different sports. Sachin is a master, so is Leander in his own league. Praise them for the achievements and the greater good they have done to the sport. As for the popularity of the sports / sportsmen its a matter of personal choice. Whoever has written this articles is clearly out of sorts and seems very short-sighted.

Bull shit comparison.. you may compare wining cricket world cup is equivalent to wining one Grand Slam. Winng a major tounament in football is equivalent to one grand slam. And wining football is equivalent to wining four gran slam in one calender year. In this regard, Sachin and Lara scores NIL. Paes Won one Junior world cup (Wimbeldon) title with a bronze as solo.... without considering other doubles Grand slams.. Poor Sachin is way behind..!!!
Well Cricket is a team game played seriously by 10 countries world over however tennis is an individual sport played by more than 180 countries world over so strictly speaking bothe the sports are not comparable..
However, Sachin is the world no. 1 in his sport for over a decade and paes only wins meaningless doubles and mixed doubles in which top playes dont compete. Paes has not even reached Quarter Finals of any grand slam (singles) in the last decade..hence does not deserve to be called a great..

U realy forget one thing that paes won the bronze medal in 96 olympic where he beat all the higher ranked players for that medal and he put india in the davis cup semi final and their also he beat all the higher rank players. Even in singles circuit he beat players like pete sampras also. So, please dont pass comment on such issues where your knowledge is basically "ZERO".

How many olympic medal or world cup your God has won.. answer is BIG ZERO, While Paes has won Olympic medal and Junior Wimbeldon, which is equivalent to World Cup. And Tendulkar plays a game which is not recognised elsewhere, where as paes is in a game admired all over the world... so there is no comparison with Paes..

The doubles titles that Paes won are more in number than the test matches that Tendulkar won.
Paes won a Olympic medal, India's first non-hockey medal in many many years. That alone deserves credit.

His claims are a case of sour grapes. Wimbledon and other grand slams are more important than Davis Cup or Olympics. In Track and Field, Olympics is the pinnacle.
To compare Paes with Tendulkar is a joke. Even if you accept for the sake of argument that Tendulkar is not a match-winner, he is still one of the top players in his field.

I agree paes is a great player, but comparing with tendulkar is nonsense, had he been federer or something than you may compare after all he is just a doubles player in a sport whihc is too individual a sport.

How can you compare Federer with Sachin... Federer is playing one the most popular game and Sachin plays cricket,.. a game hardly played by 7-8 countries.
On otherhand Paes has achieved more than Sachin. He got a Bronze in Olympic and Junior Wimbeldon title as individual along with numerous doubles achievements. What did Sachin achieve. Not even a single world cup also, and in that to a game played by handful of teams..
