I really do not know how India is a favorite to win here

Four matches are going to be:
27 vs 113 (ATP ranking)
75 vs 476
27 vs 476
75 vs 113

Assuming the last is an equal match there are three grossly unequal matches (not matches :)

India is ranked lesser but Indian track record in Davis Cup history is that it always beats good teams and that is the only reason and chance for India to win

Amritraj was a whole different class. He took matches off Borg, Connors, McEnroe.....

I still remember Vijay up 2 sets to 1 versus Borg and up a break in the 4th set... he was almost there - then Borg came back to win the 4th set in the tiebreak and won the 5th. That was 1979 and Borg went on to beat Roscoe Tanner in the final for his fourth Wimbledon title.
