Nadal won't beat federer's record
by Hussain Mithani on Sep 15, 2010 11:31 AM

It will not happen. The kind of game Nadal plays he will burn out by the age of 27. I just can't see Nadal winning a grandslam at the age of 28 like federer did this year. Touching 16 grandslams is long way to go for nadal. yes, nadal has won three grand slams this year but can he do that every single year. i highly doubt it. Nadal has been injured so many times. and the likes of del potro, djokovic will eventually catch up to nadal and start beating him more and more. nadal already got injured last year at the age of 23, his legs won't hold up till the age of 29. and ppl talk about how nadal has 14-7 record against federer so what? most of them are in clay anyways. that does not mean nadal is superior to federer. and andy murray has a 7-5 record over nadal so what? that does not mean murray is better than nadal. federer is most definately the greatest tennis player we have witnessed and I am glad and I got to see this legend play. Federer will be back next year. he is not done yet. yes he is old but not done. he may have a few more slams left in him.

its a clear show ...i feel fedex has fixed the mathc for djokovic .....let him once against me so that he reaches US open final...for nadal its again fed has felt its time someone has to get going....

i feel fed is not playing even 10% of his potential ..once he crossed sampras he is playing for the sake of love on the game then winning the matches...he aims for 20 and will be reached easily in next 2 yrs....but fed play for ur fans also...we dnt like u losing for others...let them come up on their own...

Its clearly seen ur losing the matches then other winning by playing better tennis.

Mr. Nadal's svelte handle is but a toothpick in comparison: 4¼ inches around, a size smaller than the grip Ms. Wozniacki and many women use. "A 4 3/8 grip was considered a ladies racket," said Mr. Prokes.

Still, Rafa's grip size is extreme. "That's unusual to create that much head speed and the racket not twist in your hand with that grip," said Nick Bollettieri, coach of 10 No. 1 players. "None of my students use that."

At 24,if I won all the Grand Slams at least once, the Davis Cup for my country 3 times,The Olympic Gold for my country once,if I was world no.1,and dominated arguably the best player ever by leading him 15-7,I wouldn't give a damn if other players didn't trust me or I didn't win a 'sportsmanship award', or if some random frustrated loser on an internet portal kept posting nonsense about me.After all I would be world no.1, and nobody even knows who this random jobless internet hack is.

I'm among the craziest Fedex fans. For me Roger is to tennis what VVS is to cricket, sheer Art (poetry in motion?). But let me confess this guy Rafa is awesome & on his way to become greatest ever. In the hindsight, gud tht Roger lost in semis b'coz it wud ve really pinched all his Fans hard to see him lose to Rafa again !! Think of impossible, wht abt this "Fedex Defeating Rafa in French open Finals in Straight Sets" ;)

like u, i am also the greatest fan of Federer. But I think, after overtaking sampras' record of 15 grand slam, somehow, roger has lost his concentration on tennis. I think he is enjoying his newly acquired status of being a husband and dotting father. anyways, enjoy the game, and do not make any unnecessary arguments about who is all time great? because, the question of this sort shoud never be asked unlesss ROGER FEDERER is there. God bless and ALL THE VERY BEST TO ROGER for further tennis and personal life.

But whenever someone will try to compare Federer and Nadal, I will say Federer is all time best and Nadal(Current best) has long way to overtake him.

By long way, you mean 7 GS .. which would mean 3 more years if Rafa managed his schedules just like he did this year. But then he would have gone far ahead of Federer coz Federer will never be able to achieve all of Rafa's feats eg. Olympic Gold, 3 Davis Cups till date, most masters and so on.

Who thought at the end of 2007 that Federer will not win Wimbledon and Aus Open in 2008?

Who thought that Nadal will lost in 2009 French Open?

Don't think he will achieve the next 7 GS in 3 years.

Nadal just won first time 3 GS in a year which Federer has done thrice. That is called complete domination. Most consecutive GS semifinal, final and QF. Records time Number 1 and you also know how difficult is to retain number 1 in tennis.

When you will learn that Nadal and Fed are incomparable between them. Fedex is as equal as Nadal in giving credits to opponents. I am die hard Fedex fan but I really admire the way Nadal won US Open with invincible power !!!!
