Wayne Rooney's infidelity...
by PRASANNA VEERARAGHAVAN on Sep 14, 2010 05:18 PM

Money is obviously important. Much of the finances are based on their living together as a couple and exhibiting their love and affection in public. I have always found this Rooney with his family being too big to be believed and this was proved well by his infidelity.

Now if the family splits she can't have her money though she will be a VIP and will have her career but at the end of the day the money to make being the couple is not possible.

Beckham is one big example and now it is Rooney.

Tiger din't deserve to get his wife back at any cost. But Rooney stood a chance to correct himself and prove his commitment to his wife. Now that he's been accepted back, he's a lucky guy. I don't think money was a matter here. She herself has a fortune. But I always I felt she was the orthodox wife of a kind who gave family a priority. Just that Rooney shouldn't blow this opportunity he's got.

But, somehow I felt though Rooney cheated his wife

But, somehow I felt though Rooney cheated his wife, he doesn't belong to the category of Tiger.

He indulged in infidelity while she was in labor pains. How can she pardon him unless money is more important than trust which seems to be the case in this relationship.

Its interesting to analyse how the Western media still struggles hard to uphold the traditional family values that have almost eroded from the current generation's value system. While individual emancipation rules the roost with supportive legislation and judicial backing, with promiscuity (or permissiveness) being a key milestone in the coming of age, it is hardly surprising that celebrities also bite the hook. Why does the media not just leave alone individuals to sort these values for themselves instead of projecting them as violators, when their social structure doesn't bother too much about the individual's choice of partners. Marriage is no more sacrosanct in their societies and there's nothing ghastly about a Rooney or Tiger Woods ending up with multiple relationships. Sure, it breaks down the marriage or a family, but nevertheless it is the outcome of an individual choice.

While the media tries hard to prop up the idea of marriage as a relationship bound in fidelity and trust, the collective consciousness of the society has accepted the possibility of brief affairs, flings, escapades and infidelity as very much part of an individual's freedom to decide.

Moral: Why then cry Wolf when it's a domesticated pet dog?
