This is what we get when a career bureacrat who has had nothing to do with sports all throughout his life is made the sports minister - All the arrogance of a top bureacrat and total lack of understanding of the nuances of sport administration. Result - Take all the opportunity to bask in reflected glory of whatever little achievements our sportsmen get in the world stage and run away in the face of their poor performance.
no surprises for this...its this Sports Minister who failed to recognize Pullela Gopichand , the former All England Champion when he along with Saina Nehwal went to meet him.. so i am no way taken aback... Actually... he is a waste in the capacity of Sports Minister.

Not only in the capacity of sports minister, but also as a productive citizen rather human being of the country....

obviously he has lost it. he needs to swim more often...and stay there.. :) Use his gills and not brains.
Why shouldn't there be a restirement age for politicians, I agree that instead of 60 which is for most of the govt employees it can be 70 for them. At the same time there should also be regular mental checkups to see if these guys are allright because they take so much stress. This serdi has definately gone mad; I think he needs to be given a break.
