Never thought the day would arrive when one would agree entirely with Mani Shankar Aiyar, the confirmed gadfly and archsycophant that he is! However on this issue of the CWG, he did the nation a great service by coming out in public against the buffoons in charge.
Unfortunately, that the CWG is going to be a national embarassment is a given. It only remains to be seen who is held accountable and what lessons are learnt.
hooper is painting a rather dismal picture of the delhi cwg, whereas the pm on the ocasion of the independence day & kalmadi a few days back had said, that these games will be the best games ever held,surpassing the beijing 2008 olympics. after hooper's blunt statement regarding the still unfinished venues,games village & repairs/renovation/rectification not carried out of defects seen in the main athlectic stadium, the GOM should now reply. actually what is the GOM & panel of secretaries appointed by the pm doing, the media apart from ndtv channel, also seems to have been silenced,& diverted their attention towards cricket match fixing.
