So far how many have been nominated and who have won so far? I'm sure agassi will win the nomination. He was second in his era of playing just like nadal is second to roger federer. Agassi was second to pete sampras.

He is a true symbol of hard work, determination, dedication and perseverance. He is a story of an ordinary person, achieving extra-ordinary heights! There can be no better fairy tale than his! He might not have been the best tennis player of all time or even his generation, but he was the most Inspirational Player for most of the youngsters playing tennis or any other sports. His impact to the society in large was way beyond Pete's, and that is what ultimately counts!!

I feel Agassi was a hype more than the material.
He was far behind Pete sampras , Boris Becker etc. 1992 Wimboldon final won by him was a sheer LUCK..in fact Ivansevic was more impressive than him.

Agassi was a better player than Becker..The head to head meetings and Agassi robbing Becker of atleast 2 or 3 grandslams tells the story..On his day he can also match and beat Sampras..Sampras once said even if he plays to his full potential only Agassi is capable of knocking him out..

Remember the US Open SF few years back...An old Agassi taking on Federer, classy return of serves and taking him to the edge..Dont think any modern day players can stand against the likes of Agassi and Sampras at thier peak...

Moreoever Agassi for his height 5-10 was able to match and knock out big and powerful serve and volleyrs ala Becker,Sampras, Ivanesevic, Edgerg in fast courts.

The only weakness of Agassi being he can beat serve and volleyers but he flopped against baseliners who stood behind and matched him from behind like Forget, Courier, Brugeera, Lendl etc...Even Becker cut Agassi down in Wimbledon when he stood on the baseline to beat him..

One of the great players thanks to his mental strength and stamina on the pitch, along with high percentage first serves accurate but not powerful...probably had the greatest passing shot of them all all..Only Nadal can match him by 90%.

If he was so inferior a player why could,nt Sampras and Becker complete a career slam. He is only male player in this universe who possess a career golden slam which even federer does not have. Not to forget his foundation has donated $95 million foe at risk youth throughout the state of Nevada and is arguably the most philanthropic athlete of this generation. Period. So get your facts clear.

But Agassi, smeared his reputation by hanging around for long even after he was finished. The grandslam win is nothing...

Previously many thought Agassi can never ever win wimbledon by playing from the baseline...He was a French-Aussie open slow court baseliner. But Agassi managed to win grandslams on faster surfaces easily but struggled in slow courts once his career progresses...

Agassi played a grand slam final against Federer at the age of 35 when his fellow contemporaries were cooling their heels. For your knowledge, Agassi won the French Open at the age of 29. So i would not like to buy your thought that he struggled in the slower courts in his late twenties till his retirement.
