It is a age-old business tactics to eat up major share of the money generated from sales by fooling the public and media. If 100 crore sales have been realised by OC, they will say 20 crore sales and distribute rest 80 crore among Con-gress dogs.
Given the amount of negative media pubilicity, unnecessry security restrictions, and ticketing mess created by cricket bookies. In fact, lakhs and lakhs of people were left stranded outside; otherwise, the even could have been huge-huge success. I have never ever seen such rushes in cricket.
People of India just love Olympic Sports; they are crazy about atheletics; they go mad about track and field events.
My only suggestion is go for challenger tournaments in these categories, between Indian players and world champions. We have many world champions.

100 crore projection by any means was a mis-leading stat, as the current experience with Hocky World cup clearly indicated what was on the cards. If Hockey generates poor ticket sales than what do they expect from lesser known sports ?
