He is a million times better than Pele who was only statistically superior. In terms of natural ball play and footballing genius, Diego Maradona was streets ahead of him. In many a poll worldwide, he was chosen by the people as the best ever.

That was simply because online polls tend to be popular among the younger generation who hasn't seen enough of Pele.

Let us put it this way that they are the 2 of the best players.

When FIFA declared it that way, why do we have to quarrel about it.

Diego, the great
by GARY on Oct 31, 2010 07:36 AM

There will be another Diego Armando Maradona, footballing genius beyond compare, the best of all times far better than anyone else. He could do wonders with the ball which no one either before him or after him could have or have done. If he was not tackled so viciously by some crude opponents like Gentile of Italy, etc, then he would have scored more goals all by himself. His sole performances in the 1986 World Cup was simply out of this world.

He was magic on the field, could conjure goals from nowhere, precise passes, ball dodging, curling kicks, etc were all simply mind blowing. Diego also has a special fondness for India and has expressed a desire to do something for Indian football. Hope he gets a chance and we can get to see him on our soil doing some magical wonders which he only can.

Cheers and many happy returns to Diego the matchless great!!!

The legend turns 50 and here is wishing him many many happy returns of the day. Diego is PERIOD, the greatest footballer of all times for all times. A magical ball player who had the uncanny gift of finding scoring patterns for his teammates and the incredible ability to send precise passes to where it matters at the right place.

A natural genius whose charisma and aura remains unmatched, that incredible goal that he scored ag England in 1986 World Cup was out of this world, rated rightly as the greatest goal of all times.

Diego, may your fortune increase and may u have many memorable days ahead.
