Anand still plays good !

HI still plays very good chess and as a big fan of Vishy I also agree he is getting old so time is on young players side . Todays game , Anand blundered after g5 move insated e5 would have given draw to him . I feel his skills are a bit less compared to before but always a formidable player , with a class .

Anand and his trail
by Sandeep Nibber on Oct 23, 2010 11:10 PM  | Hide replies

Chess, like others sports is essentially a game of sheer energy display, mental and physical. Anand somehow is not as energetic as he used to be. Looks like age factor is catching up with him. Reminds of Anatoly Karpov. Preparing and Playing against one person is different than so many different strategical people trying to vary their games all the times. These guys present a newer era and change in basic approach. Chess is becoming more and more professional and technology assisted. I was surprised the way carlsen held Anand in last game. I see new world champion in next 4 years surprsing Vishy. But Anand still and will always remain a legend, a real true sportsman from India. Best of luck to him.

Just in case you did'nt know preparing and playing one person over a 15 or 20 match like a world championship is much much difficult than playing different people, sounds like you are a novice
