Nearly since 4 months prior to the GAMES, it was KALMADI, KALMADI....KALMADI..all the way in the media 24x7 who was supposed to be the biggest villain …supposed to have gobbled up Crores(hundreds or thousands…!)..... and the general impression created was ...KALMADI would step down/sacked after the games and the all important probe against him would begin. However what we find to-day instead ? A cong-Bjp slugfest …resumption of Media hostile debates on TV … a total confusion with a plethora of names of investigating agencies ……CVC..CAG,ED..IT…PM’s Committee…all floating around … even while the TV channels are reporting about KALMADI being snubbed by PM & Sonia….KALMADI himself is seen hopping TV channels thumbing his nose and instead Sudhansu Mittal.a BJP .politician’s related companies are subjected to IT raids.. providing TV channels additional thrills..under these circumstances can people expect anything out of all the govt. controlled agencies ? anything at all ? Even the terms of reference of the PM’s committee are yet to be announced…is it a probe or attempted white wash and Cong. one-upmanship on BJP…?
(contd.)2.What was the role of cabinet in approving/post facto-approval of cost over-runs, delays, tender irregulariries etc.? While different figures ranging from Rs.77K crorers to 100kcrores are being bandied about in the media, the 7th Aug.,2010 dated IExpress quoted total Approved expenditure by Govt. of India at Rs.41,589.35 crores. Position to be clarified. 3.What was the worth of major projects relating to infrastructure ,stadia etc. executed by Mr.Jaipal Reddy’s ministry ?Whether any investigations are being done in respect of Nepotism and Favoritism shown if any in awarding major works to persons close to KALMADI or other officials as reported in the media.? Also, what were the tender irregularities, cost overruns , quality deficiencies and accountability on all these issues ?.What is the confusion relating to the ‘Village’ contracts being reported in the media? 4.Account of Expenditure by Sports ministry and OC and role of KALMADI/other officials in irregularities found if any. The total amount is reported to be over 6k crores. 5.Similarly investigations and accountability in respect of expenditure by the Delhi govt. of over Rs.20k crores.
With names of so many investigating agencies floating around there is total confusion as to whether any concrete investigations will take place leading to punishing people responsible for bringing shame to the Nation. Why not a third party investigations instead of by govt. agencies ? Taken in its entirity right from the time of recpt.of Approval in 2002-03 for conducting the GAMES, the following aspects needs to be probed or at least clarified by the UPA govt: 1.What was the union cabinet headed by MMS, the PM doing between 2003 to 2007/8 when actually in 2007/8 some GAMES works rumbling appeared to have started. First, it was Mani/SA and then Mr.Gill as the sports ministers who seem to have sat over the files for nearly four years. Why the PM did not take any action against them ? Was MMS also awaiting green signal from Madam Sonia Gandhi ?What was the reason for this indecision that became the cause for all subsequent&consequential delays in completion of jobs, tender irregularities due to paucity of time, works’ quality deficiency,cost over-runs etc.

Never India should not provide free medical to any one. Soon all rich and officials will be the first in line and and those who really needs it will be left far behind. There should be a contribution towards medical expensis just like in UK and Europe. This based on the salary and is deducted on source. And every one regardless of age, race colour or creed get the first class medical attention. From simple cold to major heart surgery one does not get a bill. ut is all paid from the contribution that public makes. It will be better if 59,000 crore is spent on education free for all up to the university standard. If we can spet so much on a useless event such as CWG (some may not see it that way) surly we can spend on education.
The medal tally of australia being mentoned as 38 gold medals, 27 silver and 36 bronze is wrong in the beginning of this article. I wish someone checks what i being printed on rediff beforehand.

Who cares who won what, all we are concerned is INDIAlost over a billion dolor which could have been used for better purpose.
This is the 12th time that they finished as the top nation, ending up with a haul of 38 gold medals, 27 silver and 36 bronze. ************************************ These are India's Medal tally ehile context was about Australia.
