Rooney is a brilliant footballer but this would be the dumbest decision he can make. It is a known fact that Sir Alex is a "no-nonsense" man when it comes to the club. But time and time again players who have spent 3-4 seasons with Man Utd start considering themselves as indispensible, just to be left out in the cold in due course of time. It would be the biggest blunder Rooney can make leaving Man Utd.

that is why he wants to leave. Fergie's success as a coach has not translated at the international level. All the super stars of EPL came to a big zero at the world cup 2010. Rooney wants to be bigger than a superstar club level player and hence is justified in leaving MU. He is perfectly justified if he feels he has to do more for England rather than a bunch of EPL fans in India.

I dont understand how can Rooney help England more just by changing the club... None of the English players performed in the World Cup... But why only Rooney is changing the club... And EPL stars not performing for countries... Have you heard of Cristiano Ronaldo whose National team has reached 2006 world cup semifinal and Euro cup semifinal... There were international matches before world cup 2010 mate...

hi abir i generally am afollower of posts like this and never do i comment on whatever is written at places like this BUT dare not to use the F word against a player of that caliber and had he been that(what you wrote) he'd be writing these comments on rediff sitting back on his mac like you and me he has achieved a big deal to be called that and all that is bcz he is a superstar.
lastly " a good critic statement is made by filling in abuse or slang rather of words and real phrases"
