This is a ridiculous way to report the sentiment of the people. It is very obvious that he will have his backers. He got voted to power from Pune even when it was common knowledge that he was one of the most corrupt! Some of those who voted for him may have changed their minds after CWG. Others will sing praises for him. It is ridiculous to talk to 10 people in Pune and report what people from Pune feel! It appears that the authors have not studied statistics in their lives!
It is a shame on the people of the cultural city like Pune that Kalmadi has done a fine job.Doing something with one hand and undoing with the other does not mean Kalmadi has done a good job !How can we condone the wrongs done by him and the shame he has brought to India.It is an open secret in Pune that Kalmadi and his cronies command the purses of the Pune Municipal Corpn and there is massive corruption because of him.He ( Kalmadi ) and the other corrupt corporators have managed to hook or by crook drive away honest municipal commissioners and other administrative officers so that he can continue with his corrupt practices.He has looted the city and the surroundings.In fact people from Pune must organise a massive rally against him and must force him to give up his seat.Unforunately, he belongs to the Congress Party which is known for its corrupt practices and they will ensure that he will sail thru as much of the money looted in the CWG has also gone to them.It is the people of Pune who will continue to look on haplessly.

pune people are tired of kalmadi.. he is just lucky . he narrowly won last time .. his majority came down from 80 k to 25 k.. he has allowed corruptions and bribery everywhere ..
This Satish Desai is the same fellow who has been asked to cough back the 96 lakhs he ate up in organising sahitya sammelan in Pune. He is a loyal chamcha of Kalmadi...Kalmadi got elected this time only because the MNS candidate ate up Shirole's votes by more than 50000 in number...that easily overshadows kalmadi's victory margin... Kalmadi is known in Pune for publically funded extravaganzas where he and his chamchas siphon off large sums...
Now rediff is trying to clean the image of Kalmadi among the PUNEKARs. They got special contract from Kalmadi. For facts to rediff Kalmadis winning margin came down to 25000 from 100000 in last election. He was fortunate to won it last time coutesy MNS. Bt next time its very tough or rather impossible for him. Rediff sucks......

Harsh I am completely agree with your views, it seems rediff (Anuj Ismail and Soumabha Nandi) has received some booty from this corrupt politician. May be Suresh Kalmadi is the father of Anju Ismail’s & Soumbha and that’s why they would like to make their Father proud for providing them excellent benefits. We don’t have to worry Harsh, because one day they will have to pay it back either it could be his illegal kids (Anuj and Soumabha) will pay or it could be himself, but someone is going to pay for their deeds.
