India will win 100 medals
by om shanti on Oct 14, 2010 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

As I perceived,India will win 100 medals.

Presently its 96..

Badminton :2 golds
Hockey :1 gold
Table Tennis bronze : 1

So,total 100..its a great achievement..

I wish ,in the Guangzhou Asian games India wins 16 golds atleast and reaches top five breaking their earlier highest gold medal haul of 15 in 1951 Delhi Inagural Asian games !

In the last 4 asian games India was in 8,9,8,8 positions in medal tally with 10,4,10,10 golds and we desperately need to improve up in the Asian games scenario..

CWG-20210 and Olypics 2016 ====2020
by Kuldeep Chandra on Oct 14, 2010 09:08 AM  | Hide replies

No IndianTV Channel properly showed the medalists of other countries or interviews with them. Nor a complete telly of medals was ever shown on any channel
It appears that India has done well yet India has to still work harder to generate a next generation of athletes and sportsmen who would fully outbeat Australia and England. We need more sportsmen of higher level of competences, elegance, beauty, physique and stamina.
We should start catching them young for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. Schools shoukd have some robust and reproducibel methodology to constructively identify young ones who have potential to be developed as sportsmen. Once identifies theyr education should be in sports.

Agreed. Except Doordarshan, no News Channel covered those disciplines where Indian players were not there. Was curious to know in which disciplines, Australia got 72 gold medals but there was no information. Indian athletes should definitely get importance but a more exhaustive coverage should have been there.
