Wrong information
by Joel martins on Oct 15, 2010 09:28 AM

Don't give wrong information. Wong did not net the final point.
It went out. Off course as per our Indian "Chalta hai" attitude it is acceptable. But this is one example where media has made countless mistakes.
Better improve the quality and be professional.

Chinese media praises CWG Ceremony
by om shanti on Oct 15, 2010 06:29 AM

I have gone through the news published..
American media still continues to ridicule us.Australia and English media seems to be loving it gradually.
However,I found the comments of China's national news agency Xinhua the warmest. Some lines are:
NEW DELHI, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Fireworks sparkled the cool evening air of Delhi, setting new standards of sporting excellence as the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) kept its promise here Thursday evening.
The Commonwealth Games 2010 closing ceremony started with a showcase of the various martial arts of India in a routine that had Sanskrit shlokas (sacred phrases) echoing the air.
...a tribute to our nation with the military martial music section which left everyone awestruck. The melodious evening air was testimony to the fact that India had delivered the best Commonwealth Games ever....
..The colorful and creative presentation spread India's feeling of harmony to the world.
..The fun and frolic continued with the athletes taking centre stage and a joyous, eclectic parade was the result..
..Mike Fennel, ..summed it up quite aptly when he said: "Delhi, you have delivered a truly exceptional Games.."
It was a great sight to see the athletes from all over the world break free. They let their hair-down to an equally responsive crowd ...
It is the first time that such a parade with the athletes at the centre of the show happened in the world...

Saina and Sania both have been marvellous!
by nisha thoas on Oct 14, 2010 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

Sania went where no other indian went before..world no 27 in a sport which is perhaps the most competitive. However, there are some losers always ready to pour abuse in forums, without achieving 1/1000 of hers. And she had wrist probs since 2007, which hampers her game, yet she won the silver after a close 3 setter. Both of them have been an inspiration, and a lesson esp to our hockey team, which gave up without a fight.

Gopichand is also an icon.
by Honest on Oct 14, 2010 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

Gopichand is also an icon. Once in an interview Saina was asked about signing contract with add industry that weather she is ok to sign with coco cola etc. as Gopichand denied to sign as he believes things which are bad for health as a Icon we shouldnt support and make a add for that company.

Saina - We Edged Out England Because Of You
by Patriot on Oct 14, 2010 07:36 PM

Saina,

With the weight of having the opportunity to take India to 2nd place above England on your shoulders...you kept your nerve and took India up. Hats off to you!

Watching the closing ceremony with Vande Matarm and Saare Jahan Se Acha being played just caused a rush of blood to the head and an emotional wave to grip the body. Tell me it doesn't do the same to you!

Proud of India! Proud to be an Indian!
