Inspite of all the mess up the games have proceeded without major hiccups. The problem in India is that when major projects are taken up by Governments of all ilk, there are corruption and delays galore. The greedy politicians and their chamchas in bureaucracy wish to control every aspect without having the necessary expertise or technical know how. The chalta hai attitude prevails so long their hands are greased. Most countries take up such challenges to showcase the best a country has to offer.Indian politicians have scant regard for the country's reputation so long as their own interests are served. If the total job had been sub contracted to established builders and reputable professional bodies were to micro manage the events, including upkeep of the venues and the village, the present national humiliation would have been avoided. India's media has also to be blamed for constantly harping on certain issues of incompetence and corruption as its reports were picked up and quoted by overseas media to heap further insults on India.India has been widely portrayed as an incompetent and confused nation! Even the world class venues;the new airport;the metro etc have hardly been reported.
thanks to PM, Delhi CM,Mr Kalmadi & Every one who put their hearts & soul I am proud of my india. india shining now Finally, thanks to all athletes who made this event success, & ongratulations to all winners. IT IS A SLAP ON ALL FAULTFINDERS

Are you by any chance the Umbrella vendor who rented the umbrella's at Rs.6000 or that Toilet paper Vendor or Mr. K's PR representative????

If umbrella rented at Rs 6000, Is it possible to host the entire events at Rs 12000 crore? can u believe this? how stupid you people are. It is much much worth of spending crores on events like this than purchasing MLAs for crores of Rs like yeddi & reddis done in karnataka

Do you know Son of late CM of AP Paid advance tax of Rs.20 Crs. Where did a Poor Politian son earn that Money.Perhaps thru Micro finance.
Kalmadi & OC is being made the only scapegoat. But equally the blame has to be taken by Sheila Dixit & Delhi govt., Central Govt., PWD Ministry, Sports Ministry, etc. Nobody must be spared just because the games have been fairly successful.

Sir, The problem of our Indian attitude is pulling down any body who prospers; instead of appreciating. This time media had to trouble Kalmadi Specially Mr. Arnab Goswami - he had some personal problem with Kalmadi. Please friends!! learn to appreciate our citizens
its Delhi state gov n Sheila Dikshit. Constrution was Delhi state gov's business. They did bad job and got bad name to our country. Also they should have cleaned the city and averted Dengue fever n stray dogs. I also hear sports mininstries did lot of delays in decision making.
Media is the worst culprit jst critised the event to much. When 3 small slabs of fall ceiling fell they said roof of stadium collapsed. Wht a waste. Discourage ppl to attend events
Last and least are we the ppl becos we didnot like the games and were skeptical n negative abt it since start.
Kalmadi is only a soft target. but i say all the culprits shud go to jail not jst him. We want complete justice

I agree. Trust our Media to be always negative about India. The journalists keep eating free food, drinking free liquor, get free gifts and then they keep lying, bitching, criticizing..............they do nothing constructive at all. All journalists should be kicked.

Why should he alone be painted as one when there were many others who were part of the scams that surfaced during the lead up to the games.
Agreed the games went well and all facilities were world class, but it is also vital that the corrupt officials need to be brought to book and made to pay for their sins. This should be a lesson for our preperations for future games or other kind of events.

If the stars atheletes from developed nations dont come then let them play in their backyard. They are not winners bcos they use their countrys tax money to train. why bother abt them.
Re: Atheletes who didnt come to CWG are loosers

Correct 1oo%. Just as the great cricket legend, King Sir Vivian Richards had once said that those who crib abt venues and places are all moaners who do nor have the body nor mental constitution to adjust to different places nor climates and do not have the ability to compete in the real sense of the world to be true world class sportsmen.
I am sure all those who missed would be now regretting once their colleagues get back home and inform them on their stay in Delhi.
i dont trust desi media anymore. They overly critisized the event.. so much so that it drove the audience away. Earlier this year one athelete died in winter omlypics bcos the track was dangerous but no one questioned and the games continued... if foreigner say something good or bad it makes to the headlines of the news. but good things abt games never makes news.

They went overboard on reporting ignoring the good work done while exaggerating the other part. Most just seem to take delight in running down the Games and earn for themselves some sort of limelight.
It was reported that many athletes had commented on the same.

Local media went ballistic when BBC said they are doing good n fair job in critising the event unlike chinese media. This made them even more aggressive and negative. Our media is very naive n innocent.
