People like Fennel , Powel and other people who come into India some how get into an advisory mode on governance, cryptic comments on indian People and superiority complex bordering on rascism. The irony is they may not even get a treatment bestowed on ordinary man , here they live like kings on tax payers money, do we really need thier advice . Dow we need to put them in thier palce . why do we need to be over nice to these people when we need not be so since we are a power to recocken. Somebody need to put them in place.
For Fennel, 17 million people (of Delhi) may appear to be a BIG number, but not for India with a population close to 1200 million, of which 450 million survive on less than 1 US$ a day. At any measure, that type of money should have been spent on more priority areas. Even if on sports facilities, it could have been better spent on developing sports infrastructure in hundreds of small and medium towns and cities of India, to bring a sporting culture in India. God alone knows how the facilities built in Delhi would be used after the games, and how many (number) people! India should not live on false pride.
Re: How can Fennel justify India spending 70K crores on Delhi Gam

You are mixing a couple of issues, which are not linked. Argument is inappropriate. The hockey and badminton stadiums built during Afro Asian games held in Hyderabad couple of years back are now paying. Look at the number of hyderabadis participating now, majority!! India got its finest cricketing venue during late 80s and early 90s and see now where we stand worldwide. Its a matter of interest generation towards sports which will definitely get catalyzed by CWG in Delhi.
