why you ask for mani shankar iyer? he was wright in opposing the CWG this Rs11,3500 crores coul'd have spent on the developement of the games wright from the grass root level, exeling in the CWG is not that great, we have to prepare our yong athlets to the asian games and the OLYMPICS, that is what manshankar iyer has ment,no doubt our yong athlets have perfomed well i CWG that is not enough and we should not be content with that alone.

it is so sickening to see the DD telecast and the commenting female says she is happy england
lost to Singapore so that INDIA could become 2nd in the overall tally, what can we call it ?? is it patriyatisum or childish ? in fact mostly DD footage shows the events where our athletes perform , they deprive the sports lovers from seeing other events, it is really shame on the DD

Only 10000 people at events does not make a successful CWG. All this is just media hype.
India still has a long way to go. And by the way CWG is not a benchmark like World championships and Olympics.

Not only Suresh Kalmadi; Sheila Dixit, Bhanot, Gill and Reddy also have to be asked to resign and investigation should be taken up against them.

The most economical, shortest solution is to sack the government immediately and impose President`s rule. Otherwise the mining mafia headed by ministers and shared by the CM will carry on unpunished.

6.5 m ??
by anuj raina on Oct 11, 2010 09:27 AM

Well it is great that our athletes are doing well in the commonwealth games but whats the use when we get only a single medal barely in each olympics. What happens to us when US, Russia and China enter the arena. For example: The above column says that our athlete would have won a gold medal at 6.5 m. The Russians do it 7m atleast, each year in olympics. Nevertheless , a good show by the Indians.
