This win should ensure that our hockey team keeps the momentum going and play the same team to gel and keep the relationship healthy. A team needs good number of friends to ensure you play in tandem to create openings and goals. If they keep on winning, sponsors will flow, there's no dearth of money in India, but the sponsors only see the results and how many of them are watching the team playing. If sponsors increase, then the matches will ofcourse increase and pool of players will increase.
Its very important that Indian hockey flourishes to make this beautiful game flourish, because India is the key to global business, sports and entertainment. India is the future. Hearty congrats to the indian hockey team.
Fail to understand why and how the media both electronic and print, calls it a Trounce ? It was no more than a good margin. Trounce is when you send the opposition to the point of no return like Vijender did in the Boxing. But we were always within the reach. It,s just that the indian local media got a bit too emotional, like the DD commentator who was just a Non-Sense Noise. Donno how DD picked him for commenting ?
Congratulations to India on making to the semi-final after beating Pakistan 7-4. Though I would have loved to see both Pakistan and India making it to last four but nevertheless India is there to tackle Robotic Aussies and Englishmen. If India plays like the way the played last night, they should win Gold at ease. It was treat to watch the way Indian players circulating the ball across the ground at electrifying pace. I pray for their success and wish to see them winning Gold Medal which would be great for sub-continent.

UR a nice Guy with broad mentality...If people think like u everything may be solved between India and Pak..Y dont people understand we were a same country 63 years ago
India Played a really impressive game , except they go defencive after scoring quick 4 goals that ends up them concedeing 2 goals in 1st half and another 2 in 2nd half, otherwise pakistan was nowhere scoaring a single goal...i expect more attacking game from them in semis...
england plays european (or should I say caucasian) style of hockey where there will not be so much space as was available today to star performers from both teams. Look at India's 7th goal, from the midfield skipper rajpal was allowed to progress unimpeded in a counter and shivendra was 10 yard behind the last pak defender, with only the goalie to beat. similarly abbasi, the star pakistani was allowed to completely unmarked in the D for the 4th paki goal. england will mark their men and wont play zone defense giving our attractive forwards the space to weave their magic. Therefore to win against England and then perhaps against the Aussies in the finals, we will need to adopt a different attitue and strategy. We will need to mark very carefully in defense, and will need to be more physical and error free. best of luck to our tteam. I have watched many a India-pak tests in both the National and the Shivaji stadiums in Delhi earlier. Delhi knows its hockeyy and the crowd is very knowledgeable. The team should feed off the frenzy of the home crowd and attack the English in a manner that would just scare them to death.
After cricket, if there is one game Indians care for its hockey, although in a limited sense. Indian Hockey has the potential to become the next 'big sport' in India after cricket. It just needs a couple of good administrators to break in Indian hockey. Good marketing, televison coverage and a bit better results by Indian hockey team has the potential capture Indian's imagination and to take Indian hockey on glorious track.

This is a fixed match. Porki's are very susceptible to money and Indians have plenty of money to offer. If you think that we have won it through a good performance, you are living in fools paradise.
All the colour, passion and excitement that the Commonwealth Games have struggled to generate burst into the open on Sunday evening in a small elegant brick stadium in the heart of imperial Delhi.
The hockey clash between bitter rivals India and Pakistan sold out several weeks ago, since when residents of the capital have showed limited interest in any of the other sports.
The lucky 19,000 packed into the open-air Major Dhyan Chand Stadium and had already whipped themselves into a raucous fever before the action kicked off.
With steeply-banked seats going right down to the field of play, the cauldron atmosphere soon came to a boil as India rocketed off to a 4-0 lead within 20 minutes.
For millions of Indians, love of hockey comes a close second to love of cricket, and a clash against rival nation and neighbour Pakistan was an irresistible fixture.
Thumping Bollywood music and bright lights created a carnival atmosphere and the occasion was topped off with stardust when Rahul Gandhi, scion of India's famous political dynasty, was spotted sitting among ordinary spectators surrounded by discreet security.
During half-time, he and his mother Sonia -- the matriarch of India's ruling elite -- waved to the crowds in an unusually relaxed public appearance.
Suresh Kalmadi, chairman of the Games' organising committee, was also in the ground, pleased perhaps to see one enthusiastic full-house at a sporting spectacle that has often been played out in front of empty and silent s
