Rediff feeling sad
by Jalim Jallad on Oct 09, 2010 01:21 PM

Rediff is probably feeling very sad that they will have to put India again at the second position. Hence they are delaying including the 21st medal in the medals table and waiting for England to win another gold medal.

Rs 117cr in just 7 days, 'Robot' Rajini smashes all records
Bharati Dubey, TNN, Oct 9, 2010, 03.11am IST

Read more: Rs 117cr in just 7 days, 'Robot' Rajini smashes all records - The Times of India [timesofindia indiatimes com]

MUMBAI: Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran' has netted a collection of Rs 117 crore, surpassing the first-week collection of Bollywood's highest first-week grosser 'Dabangg' (Rs 82 crore).

Distributor and trade analyst Suniel Wadhwa said, ''The film has got a net collection of Rs 60 crore in TN, Rs 30 crore in AP, Rs 8 crore in Karnataka, Rs 4 crore in Kerala and Hindi version Robot Rs 15 crore. Looking at the trend the film has crossed Dabangg's two weeks net collection in its first week itself.''

'Endhiran' opened in 2,200 screens as compared to 1,400 for 'Dabangg'. An industry source said, ''More than one-and-half times extra screens means the revenue earned is nearly four times extra and that is also helping the film. Also about 92% of cinema halls are running the film and the collection continue to be rock steady.'' The film's report in the Hindi belt too is quite good. Distributor Sunil Bohra said, ''The collection of the film in places like Jodhpur, Ghaziabad, and Meerut continue to remain steady and the film is doing well both in single screen and multiplexes across states.''

Industry sources said since the entertainment tax structure was different in the south, it is difficult to get the gross box off

Keep Counting- Lagherahao
by Poorni Shelke on Oct 09, 2010 01:03 PM  | Hide replies

These days the Sports Minister Dr. Gill is only counting the medal(Gold) tallies in Controversial CWG.

Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is counting the GDP Growth, stock Indices Numbers and number of Indian Billionaires, without counting the Food and overall Inflation numbers.

Mr. Chidambram is counting the number of maoist killed or captured and Security personnel deployed on the eve of Ayodhya Verdict.

Mr. Sharad Pawar is counting the number of Moolaha raked by Dubious land and Cricket deals.

Mrs. S. Dikshit, the Delhi CM is counting the number of poor and beggers driven out of Delhi.

Mr. S. kalmadi is counting the number of days he would as chairman of OC.

Mr. Praful patel is counting the number of days delayed in his favourite navi Mumbai airport at panvel.

Mr. S M Krishna is counting the number of times he has met his pakistani counter part on Indo-Pak talk.

One only hopes that PM, Mr. Singh and Mrs. Sonia gandhi keeps counting the number of people driven below the poverty line thru distribution of UID cards in rural side.

Mr.Rahul Gandhi is counting the number of dalit houses where he had dinner and college campuses he visited.

So, the UPA-2 is very Busy on Governance.

England will be second
by rexberry on Oct 09, 2010 12:52 PM  | Hide replies

As aquatics athletics cycling and gymnastics which altogether make up 50% of medals... india is nil.. Thanks to ashish we find some future in gymnastics...he was outstanding and the silver and bronze he acheived is worth more than a gold ...even in athletics we are improving... in swimming we need radical changes but somehow i feel our youngsters will get medals in swimming next commonwealth as now we have world class facilities thanks to commonwealth.... definitely i dont support kalmadi and co but somehow these facilities will help our sportsperson to enhance there skills and do well in sporting events...
