It is sad that some people use these columns to vent their ire on an icon recognised by better judges than them to be one of the greatest 3 or 4 batsmen of all ticontrime.The nasty comments only show their own shortcomings and lack of self worth.Maybe their lives are so dreary and mundane that they feel criticising an icon would give their flagging ego a boost.The tragedy is that most of them send silly, unsubstatiated comments which have no relevance to facts and figures. If Tendulkar succeeeds, when others fail, they remain muted.If Tendulkar fails ,even once, then they all crawl out of the woodwork like maggots and make ridiculous statements. They seem to forget that cricket is a team game and apart from batsmen scoring, the bowlers have to take 20 wickets and fielders have to catch.For almost 21 years this man been carrying India's batting like an Atlas, scoring more runs and centuries than anyone else in the world against all oppositions, home and abroad. He is respected worldwide for his skills, modesty and dignity.Some of the greatest cricketers in the world like the late Bradman, Sobers, Imran,Akram, Botham, Richards,Harvey,Hadlee, Warne, Murli, Steve & Mark Waugh,Gower,Chappe Ponting, Lara,Donald, McGrath etc have sung Tendulkar's praise. Surely these greats know more about cricketing skills than these complex ridden arm chair critics who have nothing positive to contribute.All Indians should be proud that Tendulkar is one of us and the pleasure he has
