good show. But I think now foreigners as well as indians are fed up of show of 5000 year old cultural heritage. That's over. Dont keep going back again & again. Is it prudent thing to say "look we have got 5000 or so years old cultural heritage" and it goes without saying, right know where the country & its people are staged. is that heritage is going to solve problem of poverty, inequality, illiteracy. NO !! So please start what India is going to become (dont use word can become) in future, in next 10 or 20 years. And shut the bloody mouths of the foreign critics who comes to india, speak something bad and go back.
The time keepers should have been HMT or TITAN the Indian companies instead of Swiss! Helium baloon is of UK make. So Indian superority is noy in the picture except for 500 drums,

What do think the prince of Wales and his wife had worn the clothes made in UK, all other foreigners are using the stuff made in their country. Most of them wears south asian countries clothes and use day to day material in their life. Awake up, this world can depend on place.
This commi and congi media now will forget about corruption or performance of atheletes as the opening ceremony is a success. People are made fools and till now no investigation is launched by congress govt yet.
Where are the sonia and rahul brigade on this forum.
now where is Mr. Jairam Ramesh...didn't he feel the heat, smoke and noise pollution created by the openeing cermony of this game...thosaunds of watts of soung, tonns of crackers burnt...where the hell he is now...He only knows to play with sentiments of Indian people and culture at the time of diwali, to ban crackers...

I believe that u r no where qualified or experience to question the intellegence of Mr.Ramesh.. he is far far better human than most indians. For ur info he is a student of MIT.

All the more reason being a better person and MIT student.First he is Indian and learn to respect Indian sentiments oby not banning crackers during Diwali. He can advice muslims not to play baang loudly which is noise pollution and creats communalmisgivings.
Indianness has shown on the stage. Excellent efforts by one and all concerned. This Opening Ceremony has to be made into CDs and being distributed to all Gram Panchayats and to be shown to all people of India. It is an earnest request from me to Govt. Please do it. Definite it will be an inspiration and spiritual elevation to one and all.
Great cermony. Vibrant colours of India and Indianness at displayed.
Before the games I thought the Yoga act would be boring but it was a class act by Patanjali showcasing all that is India.
All in all, just fantastic. Right from the drums, the rhythm of India, Suswagatam by Hariharan, the tree of wisdom act, the Great Indian Railway showcasing the essence of rural India or A.R. Rahman - it was just stupendous, full of boundless energy and creativity.
With an expense of Rs.70000 crore that too from the pocket of Indians and all the State callousness to Delhities only to commemorate the old days of slavery during British Raj in India was all the worth of yesterday's show.

See how many poor people of India could have been fed one day's food, water and clothings and simple home for the homeless from these money only to show that we are cultural enough to the world. what a shame mode of expenditure..

You are right, except for nations all other countries are miniscule competing with big ones. Instead of glorifying slavery best would have been to spend for providing basic necessities. There will be no mention of the games in big countries as this is rally of less consequence.
Due to high corruption, for any govt. Schemes fund utilization is less than 20%. So if it is 50% fund utilization a project, the project will be considered as a very good one. We poor and illeterate Indians cann't expect more from corrupt poltician, officials, media, corporate nexus. So CW Games opening ceremony can be declared as very good show.
