When a country like India with a great majority of poor people spends so much money and hosts such a major international event, it must do so in away to benefit the poor -- not just the politicians, favored contractors, etc. It is not enough to have a luxurious setting for the athletes unless the poor somehow benefits from all this show. However, it is good to see that the country is capable of hosting such an event (hopefully safely and beautifully).
Hosting of games at international level is a prevelige and a big experience to show off calibre of indian national technocrats, engineers and the bureaocrates, unitedly, to shape and to provide the facilities to practice and compete vociferously in the ensueing games amongest the top athletes of the world with agility, decorum and decency. Money in anyway is bound to be spent on holding of competition on world scale competitions, experience gained by the indians connected with the making of arrangements must be seen as a long time advantage.Successful completion of comman wealth games will be feather in the cap and the enhencement of national prestige of india.

Manmohan Seth - all looks fine if the correct amount of money was used for the same. But here is a case where more than 75% of the fund have been syphoned by the congress. So, are we going to call this a national pride.

It as always been the congress tradition to divide the people based on caste, religion, language, race and colour, and then exploit the situation to their advantage. The congress works based on the scriptures of vetican. In simple sense, congress creates problems and they fish in troubled waters.
